Mako Tabuni
Mako Tabuni (died June 14, 2012) was a Papua New Guinea activist for Papuan interests, and the deputy chairman of the National Committee for West Papua. The National Committee for West Papua (KNPB) On 19 November 2008 the National Committee for West Papua (abbreviated KNPB, Komite Nasional Papua Barat) was established by a number of Papuan ngo's. The KNPB campaigns for the right to self-determination for the people of Papua of West New Guinea. This right was withheld from the Papuans in 1969 with the Act of Free Choice, which was rigged. The KNPB advocates a referendum to determine the political future of West Papua (i.e. West New Guinea). , better known by the mononym name Mako (sometimes stylised MAKO), is a Japanese voice actress, singer and a member of the band Bon-Bon Blanco, in which her prominent role is as the maraca player. She has also performed in a Japanese television drama called '' Meido in Akihabara''. She is affiliated with I'm Enterprise. National Committee For West Papua
The National Committee for West Papua ( id, Komite Nasional Papua Barat, abbreviated as KNPB) was established on 19 November 2008 by a number of Papuan non-governmental organizations (NGOs). It campaigns peacefully for a self-determination referendum for the Papuan people of West Papua (i.e. the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Papua). The right to self-determination was provided for in an agreement between the Netherlands, Indonesia and the UN in 1962. The Act of Free Choice ( id, Penentuan Pendapat Rakyat, PEPERA, Determination of the People's Opinion) was a controversial plebiscite held between 14 July and 2 August 1969 in which 1,025 people selected by the Indonesian military in Western New Guinea voted unanimously in favor of Indonesian control. The event was mentioned by the United Nations in General Assembly resolution 2504 (XXIV) without giving an opinion whether it complied with the authorizing New York Agreement, and without giving an opinion whether it was an act of "self-determination" as referred to and described in United Nations General Assembly resolutions 1514 and 1541 (XV) respectively.
