Makhmoor Saeedi
Makhmoor Saeedi (31 December 1938 – 2 March 2010) (Urdu: مخمور سعیدی) was an Urdu poet, writer, translator and journalist from Tonk, Rajasthan, India. Biography Makhmoor Saeedi was born on 31 December 1938 in Tonk, India. His father, Ahmed Khan Nazish was also an Urdu poet of repute. After completing his school-studies he graduated from Agra University. After graduation he moved to Delhi. From 1956 to 1979, he worked as Joint Editor of Monthly ''Tahreek'', published by Gopal Mittal. Thereafter, he edited ''Nigar'', ''Aiwan e Urdu'' and ''Umang'', and was also the Secretary of Urdu Akademi, Delhi. He joined National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, an autonomous body under the HRD ministry in 1998 as literary advisor and edited research journal quarterly "Fikr o Tahqeeq". Tonk, India
Tonk is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The city is situated 95 km (60 mi) by road south from Jaipur, near the right bank of the Banas River. It is the administrative headquarters of Tonk District. Tonk was also the capital of the eponymous princely state of British India from 1817 to 1947. Kamal Amrohi's movie '' Razia Sultan'' were shot in Tonk in 1981–82. Josh Malihabadi
Josh Malihabadi (born Shabbir Hasan Khan; 5 December 1898 – 22 February 1982) popularly known as Shayar-e-Inqalab (poet of revolution) was a Pakistani poet and is regarded as one of the finest Urdu poets of the era of British India. Known for his liberal values and challenging the established order, he wrote over 100,000 couplets and more than 1,000 Rubāʿiyāt, rubaiyat in his lifetime. His wrote ''Yaadon ki Barat'', his autobiography which is noted for its frank and candid style. The first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru held him in high esteem and frequently attended the mushaira at Lala Kishan Lal Kalra's United Coffee House where Josh performed. Sheen Kaaf Nizam, born in the year 1945 or 1946 in Jodhpur, India, is an Urdu poet and literary scholar. His birth name is Shiv Kishan Bissa. Sheen Kaaf Nizam is his pen name. Kaifi Azmi
Kaifi Azmi (born Athar Husain Rizvi; 14 January 1919 – 10 May 2002) was an Indian Urdu poet. He is remembered as the one who brought Urdu literature to Indian motion pictures. Together with Pirzada Qasim, Jaun Elia and others he participated in many memorable Mushaira gatherings of the twentieth century. His wife was theatre and film actress Shaukat Kaifi.
