X-Press 2 are an English electronic dance music duo. The members are DJ Diesel (Darren House) and DJ Rocky (Darren Rock). Ashley Beedle left to pursue solo projects in 2009. They were DJ Award winners in 2002 and Ivor Novello winners in 2003. History Explaining the band's name, Darren Rock (aka 'DJ Rocky') explained that acid house legend Terry Farley of Fire Island came up with it. Rocky said, "We were originally going to call ourselves Rock 2 House, but arleywasn't really into that. So he renamed us X-Press 2. He basically liked the S'Express so kind of adapted that." X-Press 2 first rose to underground prominence through the tracks "Muzik Express" and "London Xpress" which were both released on Junior Boys Own Records. Tim DeLaughter (born November 18, 1965) is an American rock musician. He is the frontman of the bands Tripping Daisy, The Polyphonic Spree, and Preteen Zenith. At the 61st Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, DeLaughter was nominated for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for his work on the television series ''United States of Tara''. Music career As a teenager, DeLaughter played in various Duncanville bands as a drummer. However, he was poor at the instrument and began teaching himself to sing and play guitar. Following the death of guitarist Wes Berggren in 1999, Tripping Daisy disbanded. The next year, DeLaughter formed The Polyphonic Spree. The Polyphonic Spree is an American choral rock band from Dallas, Texas that was formed in 2000 by singer/songwriter Tim DeLaughter. The band's pop and rock songs are augmented by a large vocal choir, and instruments such as flute, trumpet, french horn, trombone, violin, viola, cello, percussion, piano, guitars, bass, drums, electronic keyboards, and EWI. History DeLaughter's previous group, Tripping Daisy, came to an abrupt end in 1999 when guitarist Wes Berggren died of a drug overdose. Kurt Wagner (born 1959) is an American musician, and the singer and songwriter of the Nashville-based alternative country band Lambchop. In 2015 he launched an electronic music project named HeCTA. Early life and education Wagner was born in the South — Nashville, Tennessee — to Northerner parents. As a youth, he wore his hair very long, which set him further as an outcast among his peers. He attended art school in Memphis, Tennessee. Career Wagner worked as a carpenter, laying wooden floors both before the success of Lambchop in the 1990s and afterwards. Kissing the Pink are an English new wave and synth-pop band that formed in London in 1980. The current members are lead singer and guitarist Nick Whitecross, keyboardist Jon Kingsley Hall, second keyboardist George Stewart, and guitarist Simon Aldridge. Former members include saxophonist Josephine Wells, violinist Peter Barnett, drummer Stevie Cusack, and vocalist Sylvia Griffin.
