"Makeba" is a song by French singer-songwriter Jain (singer), Jain released on 6 November 2015 from her debut studio album ''Zanaka'' (2015). Written by herself, the song was produced by her long-time collaborator Yodelice, Maxim Nucci. The song peaked at number seven on the SNEP, French Singles Chart. The song references Miriam Makeba, also known as "Mama Africa", a South African singer and activist. Music video The three-minute and forty-three-second music video for the song "Makeba" was released in November 2016 on Jain's official YouTube channel. The video shows a lot of visual illusions and creativity. Jeanne Louise Galice (; born 7 February 1992), better known by her stage name Jain (), is a French singer-songwriter and musician. Jain began her career in 2013 when she met Mr. Flash, who introduced her to musical programming. She then published her demo tracks on MySpace, where she was noticed by Dready, who remained her longtime manager. Yodelice was interested in her so he invited her to Paris. Her debut album, '' Zanaka'', was released on 6 November 2015. Her second album, titled '' Souldier'', was released on 24 August 2018. ''Zanaka'' is the first studio album by French singer-songwriter Jain, released on 6 November 2015. The album's title means "child" in Malagasy, and is a tribute to her mother who is of Franco-Malagasy origin. A deluxe edition was released on 25 November 2016 adding six more songs, including the single "Dynabeat". Singles Come "Come" was released as the first single from ''Zanaka'' on 11 May 2015. Zenzile Miriam Makeba (4 March 1932 – 9 November 2008), nicknamed Mama Africa, was a South African singer, songwriter, actress, and civil rights activist. Associated with musical genres including Afropop, jazz, and world music, she was an advocate against apartheid and white-minority government in South Africa. Born in Johannesburg to Swazi and Xhosa parents, Makeba was forced to find employment as a child after the death of her father.
