The Majura Training Area (MTA) is a facility belonging to the Australian Department of Defence located to the east of Mount Majura in the Majura district in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The MTA is used primarily by the Australian Army for the conduct of field exercises and weapon qualification shoots. Mount Majura
Mount Majura is a small mountain with an elevation of that is located in the northern suburbs of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Mount Majura lies close to the more prominent Mount Ainslie and is the highest point within the urban boundaries of Canberra. Mount Majura is contained within part of the Canberra Nature Park. Canberra Nature Park Mount Majura is part of the Canberra Nature Park, lying at the eastern end of the suburb of , which is on the northeast edge of Canberra. At the summit of Mount Majura is a radar station and aircraft warning light for the nearby Canberra Airport. The Majura District is a district of Canberra, with a population of 161 at the , excluding the suburb of Pialligo, which lies to the south of Canberra Airport. Apart from Pialligo, Majura District includes Canberra Airport and some farming but little residential development. Geography The Majura District is situated in the northeast corner of the ACT, to the east of the North Canberra district, Mount Ainslie and Mount Majura, north of the Molonglo River, west of Sutton Road and south of the New South Wales border. The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) is a tri-service military Academy that provides military and academic education for junior officers of the Australian Defence Force in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
