Majida Al-Masri
Majida al-Masri ( ar, ماجدة المصري, full name: ) is a Palestinian politician. She is a politburo member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine. and a leader of the DFLP in the Nablus area. In the 2006 parliamentary election, al-Masri was a candidate in the Nablus electoral district. She got 14,568 votes, but was not elected. On May 12, 2009, she was appointed Minister of Social Affairs in the Palestinian National Authority's caretaker cabinet of Salam Fayyad. She was the first minister in the PNA to condemn Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's decision to delay the United Nations Human Rights Council vote on the Goldstone report which condemned Israel for its actions in the Gaza War in January 2009. She said the government's decision "gave Israeli war criminals the opportunity to avoid the report's repercussions," "contradicts the Palestinian national consensus," and "angered friends and allies of the Palestinian people." Democratic Front For The Liberation Of Palestine
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP; ar, الجبهة الديموقراطية لتحرير فلسطين, ''al-Jabha al-Dīmūqrāṭiyya li-Taḥrīr Filasṭīn'') is a secular Palestinian Marxist–Leninist organization. It is also frequently referred to as the Democratic Front, or al-Jabha al-Dīmūqrāṭiyya (). It is a member organization of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Alliance of Palestinian Forces and the Democratic Alliance List. The group maintains a paramilitary wing called the ''National Resistance Brigades''. One of the attacks for which the DFLP is best known is the 1974 Ma'alot massacre in which 25 schoolchildren and teachers were killed. Ma'an News Agency (MNA; ar, وكالة معا الإخبارية) is a large wire service created in 2005 in the Palestinian territories. It is part of the Ma'an Network, a non-governmental organization media network created in 2002 in the Palestinian territories among independent journalists throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It has partnerships with eight local television stations and twelve local radio stations. Ma'an News Agency publishes news 24 hours a day in Arabic, Hebrew and English, and claims to be one of the largest wire services in the Palestinian territories, with over three million visits per month. Ma'an News Agency also publishes feature stories, analysis and opinion articles. The agency's headquarters are based in Bethlehem and it has an office in Gaza.
