Majid Usman
Majid Usman (born 31 August 1953) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played first-class cricket from 1969 to 1973. He toured with the Pakistan cricket team in the 1972–73 season but did not play Test cricket. A medium-fast bowler, Usman made his first-class debut in September 1969 in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Two matches later, he took 5 for 47 in the second innings of Lahore A’s victory over Peshawar in the Ayub Trophy. He opened the bowling with Imran Khan for Lahore Under-19s when they won the national Under-19 championship in 1970–71. Usman was selected as one of the 17 men that made up the Pakistan team that toured Australia and New Zealand from November 1972 to March 1973. He played only three first-class matches on the tour, all in New Zealand against Plunket Shield teams, taking seven wickets.R. T. Pakistani Cricket Team In Australia In 1972–73
The Pakistan national cricket team toured Australia in the 1972–73 season and played three Test matches against the Australian national cricket team. After an inadequate preparation against weak teams, Pakistan lost by an innings in the first Test in Adelaide. While Australia won the series 3–0, the last two tests were competitive, with Pakistan seeming the likely winner on the second last days. The 2nd test in Melbourne was attended by 115,721. Pakistan also visited Sri Lanka and played a match against the Sri Lankan national cricket team and followed the tour with a series against New Zealand, where both teams played their first ODI. ''Wisden Cricketers' Almanack'', or simply ''Wisden'', colloquially the Bible of Cricket, is a cricket reference book published annually in the United Kingdom. Plunket Shield
New Zealand has had a domestic first-class cricket championship since the 1906–07 season. Since the 2009–10 season it has been known by its original name of the Plunket Shield. History The Plunket Shield competition was instigated in October 1906 with the donation of a shield by William Plunket, 5th Baron Plunket, who was the Governor-General of New Zealand from 1904 to 1910. For the 1906–07 inaugural season, the Shield was allotted by the New Zealand Cricket Council "to the Association whose representative team it considers to have the best record for the season". Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi ( ur}; born 5 October 1952) is a Pakistani politician and former Cricket captain who served as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan from August 2018 to until April 2022, when he was ousted through a no-confidence in the National Assembly. Lahore Cricket Teams
Lahore cricket teams, representing the city of Lahore, competed in Pakistan's first-class cricket tournaments from 1958–59 to 2018–19. They have also competed in the national 50-over and Twenty-20 tournaments as the Lahore Lions. Teams From 1953-54, the inaugural season of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, until 1957-58, the state of Punjab was represented by the Punjab cricket team (as well as by Punjab A and Punjab B in 1957-58). In the 1958-59 season the Punjab cities Lahore, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur and Multan fielded teams. Owing to Lahore's population and cricketing strength, beginning with the 1961-62 season the Lahore Regional Cricket Association has usually fielded more than one team in first-class tournaments. Ayub Trophy
The Patron's Trophy was a cricket competition that was held in Pakistan between 1960–61 and 2018–19 mainly among teams representing the government and semi-government departments, corporations, commercial organisations, business houses, banks, airlines, and educational institutions. Matches in the competition were afforded first-class status in most seasons until 2006–07, when the domestic first-class competition was reorganised and merged into the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). From then on, the Patron's Trophy was a Grade II competition until a major reorganisation of domestic cricket in 2019 brought an end to the competition.
