Majda Sepe
Majda Sepe, born Majda Bernard, (2 July 1937 – 11 April 2006) was one of the most successful and well recognized Slovenian singers in the time of Yugoslavia and was one of the most renowned singers of the Golden Age of Slovenian folk music. Biography Early life Her mother fled the Primorska region because of Italian Fascism, her father was from Skofja Loka, a town near Ljubljana. They lived together in Ljubljana where he worked as an ambulance driver and she was a clerk. Their first child was a boy they named Marjan, who wanted a baby sister. 4 years later he also got one. Majda Bernard was born July 2, 1937 in Ljubljana. The family lived on the Ljubljana Castle. As a teenager Majda practiced ballet and expressive dance, having lessons with Meta Vidmar, because she wanted to be a singer and an actress among other things. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Anžej Dežan (born 17 June 1987) is a Slovenian singer. Biography Anžej began his musical career by winning the TV show ''Karaoke'' only ten years old. His first major success though was in the 2005 talent show ''Spet Doma'' on RTV Slovenija, where he was the runner-up (beaten by Omar Naber, who got to represent Slovenia in Eurovision Song Contest 2005). His growing potential was recognised by the successful composers and lyricists Urša and Matjaž Vlašič and Boštjan Grabnar, who became Anžej's creative team. Oto Pestner (born January 4, 1956 in Celje) is a politician and one of the most prominent singers and composers of popular music from Slovenia. Nuša Derenda (, born Anuška Žnideršič on March 30, 1969 in Brežice, SR Slovenia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian singer who represented Slovenia at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark where she achieved 7th place. Biography At the age of two and a half, Derenda's parents became aware of her singing talent. She always loved to sing and perform in front of an audience.
