Majali, Karnataka
Majali is a hamlet in the Uttar Kannada district of Karnataka, India. It is situated in a coastal region called Kanara at the Goa-Karnataka border. The language spoken there are Konkani and Kannada. The village is a tourist destination for the beaches of Karwar, including Tilmati Beach (also known as "black sand beach.") Local cuisine includes fish curry and fried fish rice. Majali also known as fishing village providing a constant fish supply to the southern part Goa as well as to the neighbouring districts. Traditions The village contains many temples, including the Ramnath, Devati,Kashipurush, Betal ,Shanteri and Daad Temples. Kumta is a town and taluk in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, India. It is one of the important stations along the Konkan Railway line running between Mumbai and Mangalore. Sadishivgarh
Sadashivgad is a village located in Karwar, Uttara Kannada district, in the state of Karnataka in India. Significant and picturesque, it is now a popular tourist destination located by the Kali river bridge, which has been built at the confluence of the river and the Arabian Sea. Geography & Structure The fort was built on an old fortified site on the north bank of Kali River where it meets the sea. It had about 8 meters high ramparts which were about 2 metres wide at the top. There were towers and openings for guns. The citadel was at the highest point. An outwork was on the west, near the sea at the base of the cliff and was appropriately called ''Pani Killa''. There was another outwork on the eastern slope. The citadel had single arched gateway. Mahabaleshwar Sail (born 4 August 1943) is an Indian author. He has been honoured with the Saraswati Samman, 2016 for his novel 'Hawthan' (हावटण). Life Mahabaleshwar Sail was born on 4 August 1943 in Shejebag, Majali, Karnataka village of Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. He was born in a family of agriculturalists. Sail's father was in the Army. Due to his father's demise, Sail had to leave schooling during his childhood and engage in agriculture. He started school at the age of six and dropped out in the eighth standard. Subsequently, he enrolled himself in the Indian Army. Sail also participated in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 and was stationed at the Hussainiwala border. He also served as a United Nations peacekeeper between 1964–1965 at the border between Israel and Egypt. Sail has worked as a supervisor in the Forest Department.
