Maja Stark
Maja Sofia Stark (born 10 December 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer. She has six Ladies European Tour titles and earned LPGA Tour membership through her victory at the 2022 ISPS Handa World Invitational. As an amateur she was in contention at the 2020 and 2021 U.S. Women's Open, and after turning professional in August 2021 she won two tournaments in three starts on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career Stark grew up in Abbekås, Skåne County, and joined the Swedish National Team in 2016. She represented her country at the European Girls' Team Championship, where Sweden won the silver in 2016 and the gold in 2017. She was then part of the Swedish teams that won the European Ladies' Team Championship in 2018, 2019 and 2020, teamed with Frida Kinhult, Sara Kjellker, Ingrid Lindblad, Linn Grant, and Beatrice Wallin. Junior Solheim Cup
The Junior Solheim Cup is a version of the Solheim Cup for girls aged 12 to 18. It was inaugurated in 2002. It is currently officially called the PING Junior Solheim Cup. The Junior Solheim Cup follows a similar format to The Solheim Cup and features the top 12 U.S. amateur girls—defined as girls participating in American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events—versus their European counterparts. College/university golfers are ineligible to participate in the event, even if they meet the age cutoff. The event is held over two days, with six fourball and six foursomes matches on the first day, and twelve singles matches on the second day. Each event has been held in the general vicinity of that year's Solheim Cup. The United States has won 7 of the 11 contests, with Europe winning 3, while the 2011 match ended in a tie. Swedish Golf Tour (women)
The Swedish Golf Tour (SGT) for women, from 2021 synonymous with the Nordic Golf Tour (NGT) and from 2022 branded the Ahlsell Nordic Golf Tour, is a professional golf tour operated in cooperation by the golf federations in Denmark and Norway and Sweden. The NGT is on the third level of international golf tours, below the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the LET Access Series (LETAS). For 2022 all six scheduled tournaments are included in the LETAS. The SGT for women was named the Swedish Golf Tour 1986–1990, the Lancome Tour 1991–1994, the Telia Infomedia Golf Tour 1995–1997, the Telia Tour 1998–2008, the SAS Masters Tour 2008–2009, the Nordea Tour 2010–2016 and the Swedish Golf Tour 2017–2020. The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) is an American organization for female golfers. The organization is headquartered at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is best known for running the LPGA Tour, a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female professional golfers from around the world. Women's golf has a set of major championships which parallels that in men's golf, with the women's system newer and less stable than the men's. World Amateur Golf Ranking
The World Amateur Golf Ranking for men was introduced by The R&A, the governing body of the sport of golf outside the United States and Mexico, on 23 January 2007. It is based on the results of over 2,600 amateur tournaments per year (and amateurs participating in certain professional events) and is updated each Wednesday. Rankings are based on the players' average performances in counting events over a rolling period. This period was 52 weeks initially but was gradually expanded during 2016 to 104 weeks, similar to those of the Official World Golf Ranking. Like the Official World Golf Ranking for male professional golfers, the amateur ranking was initiated by The R&A to provide a more reliable means of selecting an appropriate field for one of its tournaments. Caroline Hedwall
Caroline Ingrid Hedwall (born 13 May 1989) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the LPGA Tour. In 2013 she became the first player to win five matches in a single Solheim Cup event. As an amateur she was a dominating player, winning the European Ladies Amateur Championship as well as the individual titles at both the Espirito Santo Trophy and the NCAA Championship. Bay Hill is a census-designated place (CDP) in Orange County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,884 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area. 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup
The 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup was a team golf competition held from December 21–23, 2020 at Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Bay Hill, Florida. It was the 24th time the event had been contested and the third under the new format in which women golfers played in addition to men and an international team, representing the rest of the world, replaced the European team. The international team won the match 40½–19½. The event was originally planned to be played at Lahinch Golf Club, Lahinch, Ireland from July 3–5 but was moved because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Format The contest was played over three days. On Monday, there were 12 mixed four-ball matches. On Tuesday there were 12 mixed foursomes matches in the morning and 12 fourball matches in the afternoon, six all-women matches and six all-men matches. 24 singles matches were played on Wednesday.
