María Teresa Cazorla Medina (born 18 June 1997), known as Maite Cazorla, is a Spanish professional basketball player for the Perfumerias Avenida of Liga Endesa and the Spanish women's national basketball team. She was drafted with the twenty third overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft. Youth career Coming from a family of professional basketball players, Cazorla started playing basketball at 14 with her school team Teresianas before joining the youth system of CB Islas Canarias. At the age of 14 she left the Canary Islands and moved Barcelona to continue her development in the youth teams of Segle XXI in 2011. The Liga Femenina de Baloncesto, also known as Liga Femenina Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the highest level of sports league, league competition for women's basketball in Spain. It is the women's equivalent of the men's Liga ACB and is run by the Spanish Basketball Federation. The league was founded in 1964 and is played under FIBA rules. CB Islas Canarias
Club de Baloncesto Islas Canarias, better known for sponsorship reasons as SPAR Gran Canaria, is a Spanish women's basketball team from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Founded in 1980, it has played in the Spanish Women's League since 1983. 1998-99 was Islas Canarias' most successful season to date with the club winning the Ronchetti Cup, the national Cup and being the national championship's runner-up. The following year the team won its second cup and again reached the Ronchetti Cup's final, and in 2003 it played its third European final, in the new EuroCup. The Copa de la Reina de Baloncesto (English: Queen's Cup of Basketball) is an annual cup competition for Spanish women's basketball teams. The first edition of the competition, originally named Women's Senior Basketball Championship, took place in 1943, which makes it the oldest Spanish women's basketball competition, but it was only since 1978, when it took its current name, that it has been carried every year. The 2012 cup marked the 50th edition of the competition. The cup is played by the top teams of the Spanish Women's League's table in the mid of the season. The 2019 WNBA season was the 12th season for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association. The team began its season on May 24, 2019 against the Dallas Wings and concluded the season on September 8 against the New York Liberty. On December 13, 2018 the Atlanta Dream announced that they would return to State Farm Arena, formerly Philips Arena, after playing the previous two seasons at Georgia Tech's McCamish Pavilion while State Farm Arena underwent a $192.5 million renovation. The Seattle Storm are an American professional basketball team based in Seattle. 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2019 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 teams to determine the national champion for the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The 38th annual edition of the tournament began on March 22, and concluded with the championship game on April 7 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, with the University of South Florida serving as host. The tournament field was announced on March 18.
