Maigret A Pigalle
''Maigret a Pigalle'' (''Maigret in Pigalle'') is a 1966 Italian crime film directed by Mario Landi. It is based on the novel '' Maigret al Picratt's'' by Georges Simenon. Synopsis One evening, Arlette, a stripper in a Paris nightclub called the "Picrate" in Pigalle, walks into a police station to inform Inspector Lognon of a crime. She overheard two strangers planning to assassinate an old countess in order to rob her of her gold. Nobody gives her any consideration, but in the following hours, the bodies of Arlette and the noblewoman are found; both died by strangulation. Inspector Maigret is about to depart for his annual leave, but he decides to stay in town to help his colleague Lognon in the investigations. Mario Landi
Mario Landi (12 October 1920 – 18 March 1992) was an Italian director known for his giallo movies such as '' Giallo a Venezia'' and his television series '' Le inchieste del commissario Maigret''. Life and career Born in Messina, Sicily, Landi attended the National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, graduating in direction in 1944. He began his career in theater, working with the best actors of his time, in particular being one of the most active protagonists of the "Diogene" cultural circle in Milan, a reference point for the Italian theater in the 1950s. Christian Barbier
Christian Barbier (28 June 1924 – 3 November 2009) was a French film and television actor. Barbier was born at Saint-Ouen, Seine (currently Seine-Saint-Denis), France. During his career (1964 to 1997), he specialized in drama rather than comedy. In film, he held several leading roles but is especially distinguished in auxiliary roles depicting more limited characters. He is especially remembered for his first-class performance in ''Army of Shadows'' by Jean-Pierre Melville in 1969. Appearing in a number of soaps and TV shows of the late 1960s to early 1980s, Barbier gained a certain notoriety thanks to the character of Joseph Durtol, bounded and proud hero of '' The Man of Picardy'', the legendary French television series. Marie-France Pisier (10 May 194424 April 2011) was a French actress, screenwriter, and director. She appeared in numerous films of the French New Wave and twice earned the national César Award for Best Supporting Actress. Early life Pisier was born in Dalat, Viet Nam, where her father was serving as a colonial official in French Indochina. Her younger brother, Gilles Pisier, is a mathematician and a member of the French Academy of Sciences. Mario Feliciani (12 March 1918 – 11 August 2008) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Life and career Born in Milan, after completing his classical education Feliciani attended the Accademia dei filodrammatici obtaining the diploma.
