Maho Railway Station
Maho Junction Railway Station (also known as ''Mahawa railway station'') is a junction railway station in the town of Mahawa. Owned by Sri Lanka Railways, the state-owned railway operator, the station is part of the Northern line which links north of the country with the capital Colombo. The station is the 46th station and is located from Colombo Fort, from Polgahawela and situated above sea level. The station opened in 1903 when the Northern line was extended from Kurunegala to Anuradhapura. Yapahuwa Railway Station
Yapahuwa (Sinhalese language : යාපහුව) was one of the ephemeral capitals of medieval Sri Lanka. The citadel of Yapahuwa lying midway between Kurunagala and Anuradhapura was built around a huge granite rock rising abruptly almost a hundred meters above the surrounding lowlands. In 1272, King Bhuvenakabahu transferred the capital from Polonnaruwa to Yapahuwa in the face of Dravidian invasions from South India, bringing the Sacred Tooth Relic with him. Following the death of King Bhuvenakabahu in 1284, the Pandyans of South India invaded Sri Lanka once again, and succeeded in capturing Sacred Tooth Relic. Following its capture, Yapahuwa was largely abandoned and inhabited by Buddhist monks and religious ascetics. Polgahawela is a town located in north western Sri Lanka. It is most notable for being a major railway junction. North Western Province ( si, වයඹ පළාත ''Wayamba Paḷāta'', ta, வட மேல் மாகாணம் ''Vada Mael Mākāṇam'') is a province of Sri Lanka. The province consists of the districts of Kurunegala and Puttalam.
