Mahanakorn University of Technology ( th, มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีมหานคร, short MUT) is a university in Thailand. The university was established on February 27, 1990 at Nong Chok District, Bangkok. as Mahanakorn College by Prof. Dr. Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom, former Dean of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. The objective was to train engineering students in response to the severe shortage of engineers. MUT was then promoted to full university status under the new namMahanakorn University of Technology.It is the first and still the only university in the country that operates its own low-orbit microsatellite ( TMSAT). Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom
Sitthichai Pokai-udom ( th, สิทธิชัย โภไคยอุดม, born 10 November 1948) is Thai inventor and politician. He was appointed as Minister of Ministry of Information and Communication Technology of Thailand in 2006 by a military junta. He founded the Mahanakorn University of Technology in 1990. From 1990 to 1998, he was a visiting professor at the University of London's Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine. From 1984 to 1986, he was appointed to the board of directors of the Communications Authority of Thailand (now CAT Telecom). He is married to Pornpan Mahattananon Pookaiyaudom and has one son and two daughters. He is the son of a wealthy Shanghainese general, C.L. Shin, who fought for Chiang Kai-shek and left China for Thailand in 1948. He changed his Chinese name to a Thai one at the age of 10. The University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (german: italic=no, Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover, TiHo) is a university in Hanover and one of the five facilities for veterinary medicine in Germany, and the only one that remains independent. It is often referred to as TiHo by its staff and students. According to the website, there are currently about 2,400 university students, 2,000 of which study veterinary medicine, and 50 study biology.
