Valerie Mahaffey (born June 16, 1953) is an American character actress and producer. She began her career starring in the NBC daytime soap opera '' The Doctors'' (1979–81), for which in 1980 she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. In 1992, Mahaffey won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in the CBS drama series '' Northern Exposure''. Matt Mahaffey
Matt Mahaffey (born June 9, 1973) is an American multi-instrumentalist, record producer, composer, and recording engineer best known for his band Self and his composer collective Cake In Space. Personal Mahaffey grew up in Kingsport, Tennessee and was involved with music from a young age. He started writing songs and playing the drums at age 4 and would often perform with his brother, Mike Mahaffey, when they were growing up. By age eleven, he was playing drums at Dollywood, Dolly Parton's theme park in Pigeon Forge. In the mid-nineties he moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee and attended MTSU. He lived and worked for 10 years in Murfreesboro and co-founded Spongebath Records. He also formed the band Self in 1994. Maryann Mahaffey (January 18, 1925 – July 27, 2006) was an American politician and activist. Early life and education Mahaffey was born in Burlington, Iowa. Mahaffey attended, and graduated from Cornell College in 1946. Activism While in college, during the summer of 1945, Mahaffey worked at Poston Internment Camp as a Recreation Director. In this work, she became aware that the internment camp's real was to hold American citizens because of their ethnicity and not because of any crimes they had committed. Influenced by her early work experiences, Mahaffey decided to attend the University of Southern California to obtain a master's degree in Social Work. She successfully ran for election in 1973 for Detroit City Council. Randolph Mahaffey (born September 28, 1945) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'7" forward born in LaGrange, Georgia, Mahaffey played college basketball at Clemson University. Mahaffey was one of four brothers (Don, Ronnie and Richie are the others) who played for Clemson between 1959 and 1970. They marked the first time in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) history that four brothers played for the same program. The Los Angeles Lakers selected him with the fourth pick of the second round of the 1967 NBA draft (16th overall pick) and the Kentucky Colonels of the American Basketball Association also drafted him. Mahaffey signed with the American Basketball Association's Colonels. In his rookie season with the Colonels, Mahaffey scored over 1,000 points and was an ABA All-Star. John Mahaffey
John Drayton Mahaffey Jr. (born May 9, 1948) is an American professional golfer who has won numerous tournaments including 10 PGA Tour events. Mahaffey was born in Kerrville, Texas. He attended the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. He turned pro in 1971 after graduating in 1970 with a degree in psychology. Mahaffey came close to winning back to back U.S. Opens. In 1975 he lost in a playoff to Lou Graham at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois. The following year Mahaffey had a two-shot lead after 54 holes at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia before shooting a final round 73 and finishing T4th. In 1978 he won twice on the tour including one major, the PGA Championship. He also won the World Cup individual and team event where he was paired with Andy North in 1978. Mike Mahaffey
Michael Darren Mahaffey (January 21, 1967 – May 25, 2005) was a founding member of the power pop band Self (band), Self. Founded with his brother, Matt Mahaffey, in the early 1990s, Self-released two major-label albums and various independent and Internet-only albums. He played lead guitar, keyboards, and bass for the band on various occasions. Before joining Self, he played in several bands, the most successful of which was the Southern Rock band Blackfish. He played lead guitar in the band, but contributed little to the songwriting. Blackfish released one major-label album in 1992 before disbanding. The other members of Blackfish were Steve Ballard (guitar & vocals), Chris Reublin (bass guitar) and Andy Howard (drums).
