Algot Magnuson Of Revsnes
Algot Magnuson, Lord of Räfsnäs (c. 1355 – c. 1426) was a medieval Swedish magnate. He served as castellan of the fortification of Styresholm at Kramfors and governor of Ångermanland. Biography Algot Magnuson was first mentioned in historical sources in 1374. He was born the son of Magnus Anundson Sture and Karin Algotsdotter, daughter of Algot Magnusson who belonged to the ancient Västergötland dynasty of justiciars. The family byname Sture, already of his father (this was an exceptional case of a hereditary byname, surname, being in real use in medieval Sweden), was not used of Algot. He was usually known as Algot of Räfsnäs. Magnuson Computer Systems
Magnuson Computer Systems was a manufacturer of plug-compatible computers compatible with IBM mainframes. The Magnuson M80 range was available from the late 1970s and was successful when IBM struggled to ship machines. The company declared bankruptcy in March 1983 after IBM introduced new models and reduced prices. The Magnuson processors were aimed at the lower end of IBM's product line. They had a number of unique design features. Perhaps the most notable was the voting logic on each processor card. All of the slots in the main chassis were interchangeable. All slots were filled on only the high end model. Carlton Amdahl, son of Gene Amdahl, was Vice President of Engineering at Magnuson. He went on to work with his father at Trilogy Systems. The Chinese Exclusion Repeal Act of 1943, also known as the Magnuson Act, was an immigration law proposed by U.S. Representative (later Senator) Warren G. Magnuson of Washington and signed into law on December 17, 1943, in the United States. It allowed Chinese immigration for the first time since the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, and permitted some Chinese immigrants already residing in the country to become naturalized citizens. However, in many states, Chinese Americans (mostly immigrants but sometimes U.S. citizens) were denied property-ownership rights either by law or ''de facto'' until the Magnuson Act itself was fully repealed in 1965. Trystan Stuart Gwyn Magnuson (born June 6, 1985) is a Canadian former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics. Career He was originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 56th pick in the 2007 MLB draft from the University of Louisville. He played in the minor leagues with the Blue Jays until being traded to the Oakland Athletics along with Daniel Farquhar for Rajai Davis after the 2010 season. Keith Arlen Magnuson (April 27, 1947 – December 15, 2003) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman from Wadena, Saskatchewan who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1969 and 1979. Magnuson played 589 career NHL games, all with the Chicago Black Hawks, wearing # 3, and scoring 14 goals and 125 assists for 139 points. Although he didn't score many goals, he was a part of a solid defensive team with the Blackhawks. Perhaps his most telling statistic is his 1,442 career penalty minutes, which included many fighting majors. For a few seasons, Magnuson was captain of the Chicago Blackhawks team.
