Magnus Lindgren Fyra
''Fyra'' is a 2012 album by Swedish jazz musician Magnus Lindgren. In 2012 he performed concerts with Nils Landgren, Bohuslän Big Band, and Wermland Operas Orchestra in the project "Folk Notes, Tunes and Jazz", for which Lindgren arranged the music, conducted both orchestras, and performed as a soloist. Magnus Lindgren
Magnus Lindgren (born 13 August 1974 in Västerås, Sweden) is a Swedish jazz musician. He studied at the Västerås Music College. He then attended the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in Stockholm, Sweden, and began working with the Soul Enterprise. He began playing with Herbie Hancock aged 18, and formed his quartet in 1997. He has also worked with James Ingram, Koop, Barbara Hendricks, Gregory Porter, Till Brönner, Nicola Conte, Marie Fredriksson, Ivan Lins and David Foster. In 2001, Lindgren was voted the best Swedish jazz artist of the year by the Fasching jazz club in Stockholm. He has received a number of awards, including a Grammis award in 2001, and the Arne Domnérus Prize. Lindgren's main instruments are the saxophone, clarinet and flute, and he also works as a composer and arranger. Nils Landgren (musician)
Nils Landgren (born 15 February 1956) is a Swedish R&B, funk, and jazz trombone player and singer. He is known as ''The Man with the Red Horn'' because he plays a red trombone. Career Landgren was born in Degerfors. Between 1972 and 1978 he studied classical trombone at the music college in Karlstad, Sweden, and continued his education at the university of Arvika. After meeting the Swedish folk-jazz pioneer Bengt-Arne Wallin and trombonist Eje Thelin, Landgren was persuaded to move from his strictly classical studies to improvisation and to begin developing his own sound and approach to music. After his graduation, Landgren moved to Stockholm to work as a professional trombone player. He was soon touring with Swedish pop star Björn Skifs. Skifs's band, Blue Swede, recorded a number one hit song in the U.S. pop charts with ''Hooked on a Feeling''. Bohuslän Big Band
The Bohuslän Big Band is a modern jazz ensemble from Sweden which started as a military band in the 19th century. They play original music as well as compositions by Lars Jansson, Maria Schneider, Frank Zappa and others. The Bohuslän Big Band cooperate with several important arrangers around the world, like Bob Mintzer and George Gruntz. They have been touring in China and Japan as well as in Europe. Quincy Delight Jones Jr. (born March 14, 1933) is an American record producer, musician, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer. Anke Helfrich
Anke Helfrich (born 11 November 1966) is a German jazz pianist and composer. Life and work Helfrich grew up in Windhoek, Namibia and Weinheim, Germany where she received piano lessons. She studied in the Netherlands at the Amsterdamse Hoogeschool for the Arts and in New York, where she had lessons with Kenny Barron and Larry Goldings. In 1996 Helfrich formed a trio with John Weidenmüller and Jochen Rückert, releasing her first album ''You'll See'' in 2000 with guest Mark Turner. From 2002, she toured as a trio with Martin Gjakonovski and Dejan Terzic (jazz drummer). Since 1999 she has lectured at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim, and since 2011 at Dr. Hoch's Conservatory in Frankfurt. Palle Danielsson
Nils Paul "Palle" Danielsson (born 15 October 1946) is a Swedish jazz double bassist born in Stockholm, Sweden. From 1974 to 1979, he was a member of Keith Jarrett's quartet. He is the brother of pianist Monica Dominique. Career Danielsson's childhood was an especially musical one; his first instrument was the harmonica, which he started playing at the age of two. By age eight he was playing violin, which he continued to play and study for about five years. Around this time he became interested in jazz music and started to play double bass. By the time he was fifteen, Danielsson was playing professionally.
