Magnolia Stakes
The Magnolia Stakes is a Listed flat horse race in Great Britain open to horses aged four years or older. It is run at Kempton Park over a distance of 1 mile 1 furlong and 219 yards (2,011 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late March or early April. It was switched to Kempton's newly opened all-weather track in 2006. From 1994 to 2007 the race took place during the Easter weekend. It is now usually run at a Saturday meeting held either side of Easter, on the same day as the Rosebery Handicap. Kempton Park Racecourse
Kempton Park Racecourse is a horse racing track together with a licensed entertainment and conference venue in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, England, 16 miles south-west of Charing Cross, London and on a border of Greater London. The site has of flat grassland surrounded by woodland with two lakes in its centre. Its entrance borders Kempton Park railway station which was created for racegoers on a branch line from London Waterloo, via Clapham Junction. It has adjoining inner and outer courses for flat and national hunt racing. Steve Cauthen (born May 1, 1960) is a retired American jockey. In 1977 he became the first jockey to win over $6 million in a year working with agent Lenny Goodman, and in 1978 he became the youngest jockey to win the U. S. Triple Crown. Dermot Weld
Dermot K. Weld (born 29 July 1948), a former jockey is one of Ireland's most successful racehorse trainers. He holds the record for the most winners trained in Ireland (2,578 set in August 2000). Weld maintains his stable, Rosewell House, in Curragh, Ireland. He is married, with two sons. Robert Winston (jockey)
Robert Francis Winston (born 28 November 1979) is an Irish jockey who competes in Flat racing. Biography He was the British flat racing Champion Apprentice in 1999 and won the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes on Magical Romance in 2004. In 2016, he won the Lester Award for flat ride of the year. After a gap of thirteen years, he added a second Group 1 victory in the 2017 British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot on Librisa Breeze, the biggest win of his career. Richard Hughes (jockey)
Richard Hughes (born 11 January 1973) is a retired Irish jockey and current racehorse trainer who is based at Lambourn in Berkshire, England. Born in Dublin, he is the son of successful National Hunt trainer, Dessie Hughes. Hughes became British flat racing Champion Jockey in 2012 and retained that title in 2013, when he rode more than 200 winners in the season, and again in 2014. Riding career Hughes started pony racing aged seven, having his first win aboard Chestnut Lady in a six furlong race at Wexford. Mark Johnston (born 10 October 1959) is a Scottish racehorse trainer based in Middleham, North Yorkshire, England. Born in Glasgow, he studied at the University of Glasgow and is a qualified vet. Walter Robert John Swinburn (7 August 1961 – 12 December 2016) was a flat racing jockey and trainer who competed in Great Britain and internationally. Biography Swinburn was born in Oxford.
