''Magkakabaung'' (), is a 2014 Philippine drama independent film directed, written and edited by Jason Paul Laxamana. The film is known for winning the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film at the 3rd Hanoi International Film Festival in Vietnam in November 2014. The film was also an official entry at the New Wave Category of the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival. Plot A single father accidentally kills his eight-year-old daughter by administering the wrong medication. He finds it challenging not only to have her body buried but also to bury his culpability. Allen Dizon
Allen Dizon (born on October 3, 1977), is a Filipino actor, model and producer in the Philippines. A former member of the Viva Hot Men, Dizon has transitioned from his early years in daring roles to become an independent film actor and producer. In 2007, he won the Best Supporting Actor FAMAS award and Star Award for Movies in the film ''Twilight Dancers''. 40th Metro Manila Film Festival
The 40th Metro Manila Film Festival was the edition of the annual film festival that is held in Metro Manila, Philippines and is organized by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA). During the film festival, no foreign films are shown in Philippine cinemas and theaters (except IMAX theaters) in order to showcase locally produced films. The film festival began on December 23, 2014 and was kicked off by the yearly Parade of Stars' float parade starting from the Quirino Grandstand. It is expected to run until January 7 of the following year. The awards night commenced on December 27, 2014 at the Philippine International Convention Center, and was hosted by Edu Manzano and Kris Aquino. It was also aired via delayed telecast on ABS-CBN. The 38th Gawad Urian Awards or ''Ika-38 na Gawad Urian'' was held on June 16, 2015 at Studio 10 of ABS-CBN. They honored the best Filipino films for the year 2014. It was also aired live at Cinema One channel. Nominations were announced on May 20. ''Barber's Tales'' and ''Dagitab'' received the most nominations with eleven. Montréal World Film Festival
The Montreal World Film Festival (WFF; french: le Festival des Films du Monde) was one of Canada's oldest international film festivals and the only competitive film festival in North America accredited by the FIAPF (although the Toronto International Film Festival is North America's only accredited non-competitive festival).
