Magik (rapper)
Piotr Łuszcz (18 March 1978 – 26 December 2000), also known as Magik (pol. ''Magician''), was a Polish rapper and record producer. From 1994 to 1998 he was a member of the Polish hip hop group Kaliber 44. After he left Kaliber 44 he formed the group Paktofonika with Sebastian Salbert (stage name "Rahim"), and Wojciech Alszer (stage name "Fokus"). Łuszcz committed suicide on 26 December 2000 at around 6.15 a.m. by jumping from the window of his ninth-floor apartment. Jelenia Góra (pron. ; Polish: ; german: Hirschberg im Riesengebirge; Exonym: ''Deer Mountain''; szl, Jelyniŏ Gōra) is a historic city in southwestern Poland, within the historical region of Lower Silesia. Sebastian Salbert better known as Rahim (born November 17, 1978, in Katowice) is a Polish rapper, producer and entrepreneur. He is the owner of record company MaxFloRec, the former member of groups such as 3xKlan, MZD, Erka and Paktofonika. Since 2003 He has been the one half of a duo Pokahontaz which he creates with Fokus. He has released several albums under his alter ego Straho. In 2001 he, along with his then group Paktofonika, received the Polish music award Fryderyk in ''Album of the year - hip-hop'' category for their album ''Kinematografia''. In 2011, magazine Machina classified him at number 25 on list of "30 best Polish rappers". He has a younger brother, Minx, who is a beatboxer and won Polish championship in beatbox in 2007. ''Kinematografia'' is the debut studio album by Polish hip-hop trio Paktofonika, released on December 18, 2000, on Gigant Records. The material for the project was being gathered for over two years from 1998 to 2000. The album was promoted with a single "Ja to ja", released on November 1, 2000. The album peaked at number 2 on the Polish OLiS chart, almost 12 years after its original release. ''Kinematografia'' received Fryderyk award in "Best hip-hop album" category. T-Mobile Music placed the track "Chwile ulotne" on the list of "120 most important Polish hip-hop songs". 8 days after the album was released Magik committed suicide by jumping out of the window of his apartment situated on the ninth floor of the building, in Katowice.
