Magician Mickey
''Magician Mickey'' is a 1937 Walt Disney Mickey Mouse cartoon, originally released to theaters on February 6, 1937. This was the 92nd Mickey Mouse short to be released, and the third for that year. Mickey puts on a magic show, but is interrupted by Donald Duck. Mickey gets his revenge on Donald through his tricks. Plot At a local theater, Mickey Mouse performs as a magician, with Goofy as a stagehand. When a jealous Donald Duck tries sabotaging Mickey's act, he becomes the victim of many of his magic tricks. Eventually, Donald shoots the fireworks from Mickey's flare gun but accidentally causes the stage to collapse in on them. Mickey and Goofy pop up, unharmed, but Donald is burned from the fire and angrily rambles famously. David Hand (director)
David Dodd Hand (January 23, 1900 – October 11, 1986) was an American animator and animation filmmaker known for his work at Walt Disney Productions. He worked on numerous Disney shorts during the 1930s and eventually became supervising director on the animated features ''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'' and ''Bambi''. Biography Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, Hand began his animation career working on Max Fleischer's ''Out of the Inkwell'' cartoons throughout the 1920s. He joined the Disney studio in 1930 during a major drive by Disney to recruit from the best of animating talent. Hand immediately made his mark as an animator. By 1932 he was regarded as one of the studio's top animators (despite some complaints that his work was "too mechanical") and had become a close friend of Disney himself. A flare gun, also known as a Very pistol or signal pistol, is a large-bore handgun that discharges flares, blanks and smoke. The flare gun is typically used to produce a distress signal. Types The most common type of flare gun is a Very (sometimes spelled Verey), which was named after Edward Wilson Very (1847–1910), an American naval officer who developed and popularized a single-shot breech-loading snub-nosed pistol that fired flares (Very lights). They have a single action trigger mechanism, hammer action, and a center fire pin. Modern varieties are frequently made out of durable plastic of a bright colour that makes them more conspicuous and easier to retrieve in an emergency and assists in distinguishing them from conventional firearms. ''Donald's Quack Attack'' is an American animated television series which ran on The Disney Channel and was later rerun on Toon Disney. It premiered on November 2, 1992,''The Disney Channel Magazine'', Vol. 10, no. 5, October/November 1992: pp. 34, 49. along with ''Mickey's Mouse Tracks'', on The Disney Channel. It featured Disney animated short films, especially those with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Each episode lasted about 22–28 minutes, leaving some time for commercials.
