Magic Lizard ( th, กิ้งก่ากายสิทธิ์; ; lit: ''Magic lizard'') is a 1985 Thai Fantasy film, fantasy Monster film, monster adventure film directed and produced by Sompote Sands. The film's plot follows a large frilled lizard who sets out to retrieve a crystal stolen by aliens. Summary Magic Lizard is a large lizard who guards the crystal under the base of the pagoda of the Wat Arun, Temple of Dawn. After Martians stole the crystal, Magic Lizard enlists the aid of the Dvarapala, giant guardian as he escapes to various locations throughout Thailand, including Burma Railway, Bridge on the River Kwai and Phae Mueang Phi. Over the course of the film, Magic Lizard flees from man-eating crocodile, wild elephants, tiger, a mother and baby Asian black bear, black bear, run away from a train, giant mosquitoes and Skeleton (undead), skeleton ghost in treasure cave. Sompote Saengduenchai ( th, สมโพธิ แสงเดือนฉาย; ; 24 May 1941 – 26 August 2021), internationally known as Sompote Sands, was a Thai film director, special effects creator and producer best known for directing several Thai films especially ''tokusatsu'' (special effects-based) genre or monster films such as '' The 6 Ultra Brothers vs. the Monster Army'', '' Jumborg Ace & Giant'', the illegally produced '' Hanuman and the Five Riders'', the 1980 cult classic ''Crocodile'', '' Phra Rod Meree'' and the 1985 fantasy monster film '' Magic Lizard''.
