Cristóbal Magallanes Jara
Cristóbal Magallanes Jara, also known as Christopher Magallanes (July 30, 1869 – May 25, 1927), was Mexican Catholic priest and martyr who was killed without trial on the way to say Mass during the Cristero War. He had faced the trumped-up charge of inciting rebellion. Early life Cristóbal Magallanes Jara was born in Totatiche, Jalisco, Mexico on July 30, 1869. He was son of Rafael Magallanes Romero and Clara Jara Sanchez, who were farmers. He worked as a shepherd in his youth and enrolled in the Conciliar Seminary of San José in Guadalajara at the age of 19. Ordination and priestly life Cristóbal was ordained at the age of 30 at Santa Teresa in Guadalajara in 1899 and served as chaplain of the School of Arts and Works of the Holy Spirit in Guadalajara. He was then designated as the parish priest for his hometown of Totatiche, where he helped found schools and carpentry shops and assisted in planning for hydrological works, including the dam of La Candelaria. Bobby Magallanes
Robert Magallanes (born August 18, 1969) is an American professional baseball coach for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball. Career Magallanes attended Bell High School in Bell, California, and graduated in 1987. The Montreal Expos selected him in the 44th round of the 1987 MLB draft, but he did not sign, and enrolled at Cerritos College. The Seattle Mariners selected Magallanes in the 50th round of the 1989 MLB draft. He played in Minor League Baseball for 12 years, with six of them in the Mexican League. During the 1994–95 MLB strike, Magallanes was a replacement player for the Chicago Cubs. Magallanes became a coach in the Los Angeles Angels' organization in 2002. He became the manager of the Cedar Rapids Kernals for the 2004 season. He was promoted to manage the Arkansas Travelers in 2007, and won the Texas League championship in 2008. Julián Magallanes
Julián David Magallanes (born 20 March 1986) is an Argentine footballer who played professionally for a number of clubs in the Italian leagues. Biography Born in Arequito, Caseros, Santa Fe Province, Magallanes started his professional career at the province capital, for Tiro Federal. He made his Argentine Primera División debut on 29 April 2006, against Racing de Avellaneda. That match Tiro Federal lost to Racing 0–2 and Magallanes was substituted by Jorge Sebastián Sáez. The team relegated after the 2006 ''Clausura'' season. Magallanes then joined Torneo Argentino B (4th level) side Gimnasia y Tiro. In summer 2007, he moved to Italian Serie D side Sangiustese due to lack of European Union citizenship.
