Madison Avenue Line (MATA Trolley)
The Madison Avenue Line is a line of the Memphis Area Transit Authority trolley system. The trolley line began operating in 2004, and cost $56 million to build. Currently, it operates of double track along Madison Avenue with six stops stretching into Midtown Memphis. The line was built to connect the Main Street system to the Medical District just east of Downtown Memphis. Trolley service has been suspended since April 2014, after two trolley cars caught fire within a span of six months. Buses have been serving the line since then, but MATA plans to restore trolley operation to the line eventually. In 2020, MATA acquired a Siemens–Duewag U2 "modern streetcar" (built in 1988) secondhand from the San Diego Trolley system, and plans to carry out test runs with it on the Madison Avenue Line in 2022, as a step toward a possible reopening of the rail line. WREG-TV (channel 3) is a television station in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, affiliated with CBS and owned by Nexstar Media Group. The station's studios are located on Channel 3 Drive near the Mississippi River on the west side of Memphis, and its transmitter is located near Bartlett, Tennessee. However, master control and some internal operations are based at the studios of Nexstar sister station and fellow CBS affiliate WSPA-TV in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Fire Museum Of Memphis
The Fire Museum of Memphis is located in Fire Engine House No. 1 on 118 Adams Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Riverfront Loop
The Riverfront Loop is a line of the Memphis Area Transit Authority MATA Trolley, trolley system. It began operation in 1997, as the second line in the system. It runs for through downtown Memphis and along the Mississippi River, Mississippi riverfront, with 18 stops along the way. It is the longest of the system's three lines, though it concurrent with the Main Street Line (MATA Trolley), Main Street Line for about half of its length. Part of the line offers panoramic views of the Mississippi River from atop to the Chickasaw Bluffs. Interstate 240 (I-240) is a auxiliary Interstate Highway in the US state of Tennessee that forms a bypass around the southern and eastern neighborhoods of Memphis. Combined, I-240 and its parent, I-40, form a contiguous beltway around most of Memphis. I-240 runs from I-40 in Midtown Memphis to I-40 and Sam Cooper Boulevard in East Memphis.
