Madhusree Mukerjee
Madhusree Mukerjee (born 1961) is an Indian-American physicist, writer, editor, and journalist. She is the author of ''The Land of Naked People: Encounters with Stone Age Islanders'' (2003) and '' Churchill's Secret War: The British Empire and the Ravaging of India during World War II'' (2010). She is a contributor to the People's Archive of Rural India and a senior editor with Scientific American. Early life and education Mukerjee was born in West Bengal, India. She is a graduate of Jadavpur University with a degree in physics. After obtaining a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago—supervised by Yoichiro Nambu—she began post-doctoral studies at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Brackets
A bracket is either of two tall fore- or back-facing punctuation marks commonly used to isolate a segment of text or data from its surroundings. Typically deployed in symmetric pairs, an individual bracket may be identified as a 'left' or 'right' bracket or, alternatively, an "opening bracket" or "closing bracket", respectively, depending on the directionality of the context. Specific forms of the mark include parentheses (also called "rounded brackets"), square brackets, curly brackets (also called 'braces'), and angle brackets (also called 'chevrons'), as well as various less common pairs of symbols. As well as signifying the overall class of punctuation, the word "bracket" is commonly used to refer to a specific form of bracket, which varies from region to region. In most English-speaking countries, an unqualified word "bracket" refers to the parenthesis (round bracket); in the United States, the square bracket.
