Madhupal
Madhupal Kannambathu is an Indian actor, director, and screenwriter who works in Malayalam cinema. Madhupal made his acting debut with ''Kashmeeram'' in 1994 and his directorial debut with ''Thalappavu'' (2008), which was about Naxal Varghese and won several awards in 2008. Biography Madhupal is a native of Kozhikode and took post graduation in commerce. His association with cinema dates back to when he was a child in Palakkad. His father, Chengalath Madhava Menon, ran a movie theatre. Madhupal is also a short story writer in Malayalam. He has acted in more than 90 films in Malayalam, Tamil, English and Hindi, including lead roles. His short stories have been translated into English, Hindi, and Tamil, and have appeared in publications like ''Mathrubhumi'', ''Madhyamam'', and ''Bhashaposhini'' magazines. ''Thalappavu'' (literal meaning: turban or headgear, which is a symbol of power, status and protection) is a 2008 Malayalam language period thriller film based on the events related to Naxal Varghese and Police Constable P. Ramachandran Nair, directed by Madhupal and written by Babu Janardhanan. The film sympathetically portrays the social and political issues of the Naxalite era of the 1970s in Kerala. Jude Attipetty is an Indian director of Malayalam cinema and television. He is the head of programs at Mazhavil Manorama and is the director of award-winning tele-series such as ''Sararanthal'' and ''Mikhayelinte Santhathikal''. ''Kashmeeram'' is a 1994 Indian Malayalam-language action film directed by Rajiv Anchal, written by A. K. Sajan and produced by Menaka under Revathy Kalamandhir. Arikkad Varghese ( ml, അരിക്കാട് വർഗീസ്, 14 June 1938 - 18 February 1970), popularly known as Saghavu Varghese (സഖാവ് വർഗീസ്), was an Indian CPIML leader, who fought mainly to protect the Adivasis in Wayanad from the exploitation of the feudal lords who were primarily members of political parties and the police system which then aided the exploitation, during the 1960s.
