Madame Besøker Oslo
''Madame besøker Oslo'' (Madame Visits Oslo) is a Norwegian silent film from 1927. The original screenplay was written by Alf Rød, but the film was produced based on a version of the screenplay reworked by Harry Ivarson and Gurly Drangsholt. Ivarson also directed the film, and Drangsholt was the production manager and assistant director. Plot On the Berlin–Copenhagen express, Madame Vera Wadjevska and her friend Baron Felix de Video meet the rich banker Wagelsten from Sydney, who after many years of absence is on his way home to Norway to take over an estate. Wagelsten, however, suddenly falls dead, and the baron, who has an astonishing resemblance to Wagelsten, assumes his identity. On the estate, young Helge lives in the certain belief that the beautiful property belongs to him, but he suddenly hears that the real owner, an uncle, is on his way. Harry Ivarson
Harry Ivarson (September 7, 1892 – 1967) was a Norwegian film director and screenwriter. Ivarson was born in Chicago, the son of the actor William Ivarson and actress Anna Ivarson. In addition to Harry, the couple had a son Wictor (born in 1893) and a daughter Borghild (born in 1895). In 1910 the family lived in Årstad. Ivarson studied film in the United States and Germany. He debuted as a director and screenwriter in Germany in 1923 with the film ''Wenn Männer richten'' under the pseudonym Harry Williams. He continued his career in Norway with the films '' Til sæters'' (1924), '' Fager er lien'' (1925), '' Simen Mustrøens besynderlige opplevelser'' (1926), '' Madame besøker Oslo'' (1927), and ''Den glade enke i Trangvik'' (1927), which was his last silent film. Hilda Fredriksen
Hilda Fredriksen (December 10, 1873 – June 30, 1945) was a Norwegian stage and film actress. Family Hilda Fredriksen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway, as the daughter of the police officer Carl Fredriksen (1847–1902) and Maren Gustava Gulliksen (1848–1924). She was the sister of the actress Ragnhild Fredriksen (1882–1963), who married the actor Ingolf Schanche. Hilda Fredriksen was unmarried. The National Library of Norway ( no, Nasjonalbiblioteket) was established in 1989. Its principal task is "to preserve the past for the future". The library is located both in Oslo and in Mo i Rana. Ellen Isefiær
Ellen Isefiær (7 December 1899 – 28 September 1985) was a Norwegian actress and stage director. She staged more than 200 productions during her career. Biography Isefiær was born in Kristiansand, Norway to Thomas Engelhardt Isefiær and Katharine Margrethe Johnsen. From 1918 to 1920 she was a student at the National Theatre (Oslo), National Theatre. She was engaged with Stavanger Teater at Rogaland Teater in Stavanger from 1921, and had her breakthrough as "Elizabeth" in the play ''Mary Stuart (play), Mary Stuart'' at this theatre. Erling Krogh
Erling Krogh (September 12, 1888 – October 28, 1968) was a Norwegian operatic tenor. Biography Krogh was born in Kristiania (now Oslo). He attended the Oslo Cathedral School until 1905, and then studied at the Royal Academy of Arts and Crafts from 1905 to 1909. During that time, from 1905 and until 1915, he worked as a goldsmith. While he was studying, he sang with Ellen Schytte-Jacobsen. In 1915 he traveled to Copenhagen and Paris to study under Peter Cornelius. Later he also studied with Jean de Reszke in Nice in 1921. He has his debut as a tenor in 1915, and starting in 1918 he was engaged with the Opera Comique for three years. He then headed the Norwegian Opera Society from 1922 to 1923, after which he established his own opera society, which he headed for a year. Conrad Eugen Skjønberg (March 27, 1889 – July 25, 1971) was a Norwegian actor. Eugen Skjønberg was married to the actress Henny Skjønberg. They resided at Ramstad. He was the father of Per Skjønberg, Pål Skjønberg, and Espen Skjønberg, and the grandfather of Hennika Skjønberg, Siv Skjønberg, and Jo Skjønberg, all of whom were actors and actresses. Skjønberg started his career in the banking industry in Kragerø and Skien, but in his twenties he was discovered in the amateur theater by a dance teacher, who recommended him to Alma Fahlstrøm in 1913.
