Madam Fuli
Madam Fuli is a 1999 Bangladeshi film directed by Shahidul Islam Khokon. It stars debutants Shimla and Alexander Bo in lead roles while Bobita and Humayun Faridi in supporting roles. It is a female-centric film, which is rarely seen in Bangladeshi Cinema. Shimla won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of 'Fuli'. Upon doing so, she has become the only Bangladeshi actor, male or female, to win National Film Award for debut performance. ATM Shamsuzzaman won the Bangladesh National Film Awards for Best Comedian. This film is loosely based on 1988 Hindi film ''Khoon Bhari Maang'', starring Rekha in the lead roles. Synopsis Fuli (Simla) is an uneducated village girl. Shahidul Islam Khokon (15 May 1957 – 4 April 2016) was a Bangladeshi filmmaker and producer. Career Khokon debuted as a director on 1985 through his film ''Rokter Bondi''. Shimla (Actress)
Shamsun Nahar Shimla (known as Shimla; born 4 December 1982) is a Bangladeshi film actress. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her debut film ''Madam Fuli'' (1999). Career Shimla originated from a small town of Jhenaidah. She debuted in acting through her performance in the film ''Madam Fuli'' (1999). Shimla was married to Palash Ahmed for eight months in 2018. Ahmed was involved in an attempt of aircraft hijacking incident in 2019 in which he was killed in a commando operation. Bangladesh Film Development Corporation or BFDC, is a government owned and operated corporation in Tejgaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Nuzhat Yeasmin is the managing director of the corporation. History The organization was founded in 1959 as the East Pakistan Film Development Corporation which was changed to Bangladesh Film Development Corporation after Bangladesh achieved independence in 1971. Khan Asifur Rahman Agoon, known as Agun is a Bangladeshi musician. The son of actor Khan Ataur Rahman and singer Nilufar Yasmin, he is notable for songs like "''Baba Bole Chhele Nam Korbe''", "''Amar Shopno Gulo''" and "''O Amar Bondhu Go''". Kanak Chapa (; born 11 September 1969) is a Bangladeshi singer. Khalil Ullah Khan (known as Khalil; 2 February 1934 – 7 December 2014) was a Bangladeshi film and television actor.
