Mad Dog (DC Comics)
The Mad Dog is the name of four fictional characters in the DC Comics universe. Two of them are associated with the ''Batman'' myths. Publication history The third Mad Dog was created by writer Andersen Gabrych and artist Ale Garza. He first appeared as an enemy of Cassandra Cain (then Batgirl) in ''Batgirl'' (vol. 2) #67 (October 2005). Fictional character biography Lucas "Mad Dog" McGill Lucas "Mad Dog" McGill is a highly dangerous criminal who is wanted in several states for multiple counts of murder and was notorious for shooting men in the back. One night while beating a woman in the streets, he met a young Jonah Hex (who was drunk at the time). In his inebriated state, Jonah Hex believed that McGill was his father Woodson Hex abusing his mother Ginny and shot him dead where he stood. Mad-Dog (Robert "Buzz" Baxter) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history Buzz Baxter's first appearance was in ''Miss America Comics'' #2 (1944), as the boyfriend of Patsy Walker. He continued to appear as a supporting character of Patsy until her comic was cancelled in 1965. He reappeared, alongside Patsy, in ''Amazing Adventures'' #13 (Jul. 1972) and made occasional appearances afterwards. He was revamped as the villain Mad-Dog in ''The Defenders'' #125 (Nov. 1983). Spider-Girl (May "Mayday" Parker) is a superheroine appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. She has been referred to as both Spider-Girl and Spider-Woman. The character appears in the MC2 universe. The character was created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz as the teenage daughter of Peter Parker (Spider-Man) and Mary Jane Watson, and first appeared in ''What If'' #105 (February 1998). ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' is an ongoing American comic book series featuring the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man as its main protagonist. Being in the Earth 616, mainstream continuity of the franchise, it began publication in 1963 as a bimonthly periodical (as ''Amazing Fantasy'' had been), quickly being increased to monthly, and was published continuously, with a brief interruption in 1995, until its second volume with a new numbering order in 1999. In 2003, the series reverted to the numbering order of the first volume. The title has occasionally been published biweekly, and was published three times a month from 2008 to 2010. ''Combat Kelly and the Deadly Dozen'' is a comic book series published by Marvel Comics from 1972 to 1973. The series was created by writer Gary Friedrich and penciler Dick Ayers, the creative team of Marvel's long-running World War II title ''Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos''. The premiere issue continued a story that began in ''Sgt. Fury'' #98 (May 1972), and occasional crossovers continued between these two series. The series lasted for nine issues and was cover-billed simply as ''Combat Kelly'' in the postal indicia. ''Bob'' is an American sitcom television series created by Bill Steinkellner, Cheri Steinkellner, and Phoef Sutton. It aired on CBS from September 18, 1992, to December 27, 1993. The series was the third starring vehicle sitcom for Bob Newhart, following his previous successful CBS sitcoms ''The Bob Newhart Show'' and ''Newhart''. Synopsis Newhart portrayed Bob McKay, the creator of the 1950s comic book superhero "Mad-Dog". Mad-Dog was a casualty of the Comics Code Authority, a real-life self-regulation authority formed to assuage concerns over violence and gore in comics in the 1950s.
