Mad About The Toy
"Mad About the Toy" is the eleventh episode of the thirtieth season of the American animated television series ''The Simpsons'', and the 650th episode overall. It aired in the United States on Fox on January 6, 2019. The episode won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program. Plot Homer and Marge celebrate their anniversary, leaving the kids at home with Grampa. Marge points out that Grampa needs to be home in an hour, so she and Homer do all their activities as fast as possible. At home, Bart and Lisa are bored and ask Grampa if they can play a game. Bart finds some plastic army men toys in the basement, which causes Grampa to panic. The family takes him to the VA, but the doctor is unable to find out what is wrong. Lisa notices that the molding of the soldier toys resembles Grampa, then asks if the company that used him for the photos of the plastic army men paid him. Michael Price (born October 22, 1958) is an American writer and producer, best known for his Emmy and Writers Guild award-winning work on ''The Simpsons''. Price is a writer and co- executive producer of the ABC series ''Teacher's Pet''. He served as a script consultant on ''The Simpsons Movie'' and wrote the Lego Star Wars special, '' ''Lego Star Wars: The Padawan Menace''''. He works at Lucasfilm writing and producing Lego Star Wars Franchise. Army men, or plastic soldiers, are toy soldiers that are about tall and most commonly molded from olive green, relatively unbreakable plastic. Alfonso "Poncho" Nevárez Jr. is a former Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives. First elected in 2012, Nevárez announced in November 2019 that he would not seek re-election in 2020. This decision was ultimately connected to his arrest for cocaine possession later that month.
