Mackenzie High School (Guyana)
Mackenzie High school is a secondary school situated at Purple Heart Street, Mackenzie, Linden, Guyana. Admission is based on the Secondary School Entrance Examination (also known as Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment). Eligible students can be admitted to the school through the National Grade Six Assessment. History The history of Mackenzie High School (previously Echols High School) dates back to 1946. Until 1946 students from that riverine location had to travel to Georgetown if they wished to pursue secondary education. The journey undertaken by children, in those days, was not by road but sailing some 65 miles along the Demerara River. However, their parents were dissatisfied with that situation and a group of them, after World War II ended, explored the possibility of a school in the mining town. Parents initially undertook to employ and pay the teachers but, one year later, DEMBA accepted full responsibility for maintaining Echols High School with 26 children on roll. Th ...

Mackenzie High School (Michigan)
Mackenzie High School was a public high school in Detroit, Michigan. History Located on Detroit's west side, Mackenzie High School was named to honor David D. Mackenzie, who had served as principal of Central High School, and as first dean of the city college that would become Wayne State University. Mackenzie High School was among the first schools constructed on land acquired through Detroit's westernmost annexation efforts in Greenfield Township; by 1926 the township had ceased to exist. Adorned in blue and yellow tile from the Pewabic Pottery Works, the three-story facility opened in September 1928. In an effort to make efficient use of available classrooms, the school's early history featured a full range of grade levels – elementary through secondary. The school was demolished in June of 2012. Athletics The Mackenzie Stags were the 1979 boys state basketball champion. Girls track and field won the state championship in 1978. Notable alumni * Jerome Bettis Hal ...

List Of Secondary Schools In Ontario
The following is a list of secondary schools in Ontario. Secondary education policy in the Canadian province of Ontario is governed by the Ministry of Education. Secondary education in Ontario includes Grades 9 to 12. The following list includes public secular institutions, public separate schools, and privately managed independent schools in Ontario. All public schools in Ontario (secular and separate) operate as a part of either an English first language school board or a French first language school board. Although Ontario's secular and separate school systems are both considered public, colloquially the term ''public school'' typically distinguishes a secular institution from its separate counterparts: institutions operated by a public secular school board are typically referred to as ''public schools'', whereas institutions operated by a public separate school board are typically referred to as ''Catholic schools''. Fort Mackenzie High School
A fortification is a military construction or building designed for the defense of territories in warfare, and is also used to establish rule in a region during peacetime. The term is derived from Latin ''fortis'' ("strong") and ''facere'' ("to make"). From very early history to modern times, defensive walls have often been necessary for cities to survive in an ever-changing world of invasion and conquest. Some settlements in the Indus Valley civilization were the first small cities to be fortified. In ancient Greece, large stone walls had been built in Mycenaean Greece, such as the ancient site of Mycenae (famous for the huge stone blocks of its 'cyclopean' walls). A Greek '' phrourion'' was a fortified collection of buildings used as a military garrison, and is the equivalent of the Roman castellum or English fortress. These constructions mainly served the purpose of a watch tower, to guard certain roads, passes, and borders. Though smaller than a real fortress, they ...
