Mackay City Council
The City of Mackay was a Local government in Australia, local government area located in the Central Queensland region of Queensland, Australia, encompassing the regional city of Mackay, Queensland, Mackay and the surrounding region. The City was created as a municipal borough in 1869, and prior to amalgamation with the Shire of Pioneer in 1994, the City was limited to the central suburbs on the south shore of the Pioneer River (Queensland), Pioneer River. From 1994 until 2008, the City covered an area of . In 2008, it amalgamated with the Shires of Shire of Mirani, Mirani and Shire of Sarina, Sarina to become the Mackay Regional Council. Mackay Town Hall
Mackay Town Hall is a heritage-listed former town hall at 63 Sydney Street, Mackay, Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia. It is the second town hall to be built on this site. It was designed by Arthur Rigby built in 1912 by Charles Porter for the Mackay Town Council. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 29 May 1998. Cremorne is a locality in the Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Cremorne had a population of 33 people. Geography Cremorne is on the northern bank of the Pioneer River in the centre of Mackay. The Forgan Smith Bridge crosses from central Mackay over the Pioneer River and through Cremorne to North Mackay. The Pioneer River forms the southern boundary of the locality and Barnes Creek forms the northern boundary. Bucasia is a coastal town and one of the largest suburb of Mackay in the Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the the suburb of Bucasia had a population of 4,771 people. Blacks Beach is a coastal suburb, one of the "northern beaches" of the city of Mackay in the Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the Blacks Beach had a population of 3,861 people. History The suburb is named after Maurice Hume Black, who operated The Cedars sugar plantation and mill from 1871. Beaconsfield, Queensland
Beaconsfield is a suburb of Mackay in the Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the Beaconsfield had a population of 5,490 people. Geography Beaconsfields is located north of the Mackay CBD. History The suburb was named after the Beaconsfield sugar plantation. It had a sugar crushing mill from about 1882 to 1893. Mackay Wanderers Soccer Club was established in 1923.
