Macaroni (film)
''Macaroni'' ( it, Maccheroni) is a 1985 Italian comedy-drama film directed by Ettore Scola. The film was selected as the Italian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 58th Academy Awards, ahead of Federico Fellini's ''Ginger and Fred'', but was not accepted as a nominee. Plot Jack Lemmon plays a successful, physically exhausted, pill-popping American businessman, going through a divorce, who visits Naples, Italy. He spends several days there as a guest of a local business acquaintance, played by Marcello Mastroianni, who has a more laid-back philosophy and is devoted to his large family. In the process, Lemmon's character learns how to relax and live the good life. Ettore Scola
Ettore Scola (; 10 May 1931 – 19 January 2016) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. He received a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film in 1978 for his film ''A Special Day'' and over the course of his film career was nominated for five Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. Life and career Scola was born in Trevico, Avellino, Campania. From age 15, he became a ghostwriter. He entered the film industry as a screenwriter in 1953, and collaborated with director Dino Risi and fellow writer Ruggero Maccari on the screenplay for Risi's feature, ''Il Sorpasso'' (1962). He directed his first film, ''Let's Talk About Women'', in 1964. In 1974 Scola enjoyed international success with '' We All Loved Each Other So Much'' (''C'eravamo tanto amati''), a wide fresco of post-World War II Italian life and politics, dedicated to fellow director Vittorio De Sica. Ginger And Fred
''Ginger and Fred'' ( it, Ginger e Fred) is a 1986 comedy/drama film directed and written by Federico Fellini and starring Marcello Mastroianni and Giulietta Masina. The title is a reference to the American dancing couple Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The two leads portray Italian impersonators of Astaire and Rogers who reunite after thirty years of retirement for a vulgar and bizarre television extravaganza. The film was the subject of a trademark claim in the United States by Ginger Rogers, who claimed in ''Rogers v. Grimaldi'' that the film violated her Lanham Act trademark rights, right of publicity, and was a "false light" defamation. The Second Circuit rejected this claim, finding that "suppressing an artistically relevant though ambiguous ytitle film" on trademark grounds would "unduly restrict expression." Marc Berman (born October 31, 1980) is a politician and attorney, currently serving as a member of the California State Assembly. Daria Nicolodi (19 June 1950 – 26 November 2020) was an Italian television and film actress and screenwriter. Early life and career Daria Nicolodi was born in Florence on 19 June 1950. Her father was a Florentine lawyer and her mother, Fulvia, was a scholar of ancient languages. Her maternal grandfather was composer Alfredo Casella. She moved to Rome in the late 1960s. Giuseppe Rinaldi (14 September 1919 – 15 December 2007) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Rinaldi appeared in more than 20 films between 1939 and 1982. During his time, he was considered of be one of the most greatest and influential actors and dubbers in Italy. He was the official Italian voice of Marlon Brando, Jack Lemmon, Rock Hudson and Paul Newman.
