''Macario Against Zagomar'' (Italian: ''Macario contro Zagomar''; also known as ''Macario Against Fantomas'') is a 1944 Italian comedy film directed by Giorgio Ferroni and starring Erminio Macario. Plot In Paris, the dreaded Zagomar kidnapped the daughter of a scientist to force him to deliver his latest discovery: a machine that "blocks" over time. Macario, the assistant teacher, decides to confront this elusive bandit that lurks in the bowels of the city. Giorgio Ferroni
Giorgio Ferroni (12 April 1908 – 1981) was an Italian film director. Life and career Giorgio Ferroni was born in Perugia on 12 April 1908. Ferroni began his career in film with short documentaries during World War II. He directed his first dramatic film ''The Thrill of the Skies'' in 1939. At the time of filming ''The Night of the Devils'', Ferroni was almost completely deaf and had to direct the film with the help of a hearing aid. Following the release of the film, a new project titled ''E i mostri uscirono dalle loro tane'' (). Ferroni only helmed one more film with the comedy ''Antonio e Placido: attenti ragazzi...chi rompe paga'' which he is credited as Calvin Jackson Padget, a name he used for directing Western (genre), Westerns in the 1960s. Olga Villi
Olga Villi (20 January 1922 – 12 August 1989), was an Italian model and actress. Life and career Born in Suzzara, Mantua as Olga Villani, Villi began to work, only twelve years old, as a saleswoman and seamstress at the Milanese fashion house Biki. A few years later her employer hired her as a model; noted by Macario, she was hired by him in 1942 for the rivista- operetta ''Il grillo al castello'', where she had to act, sing and dance. Thanks to the success of the show Villi became one of the most quoted soubrettes of the period, working with Anna Magnani, Nino Taranto and Alberto Sordi, and in mid-1940s she also starred in several drama plays, working among others with Luchino Visconti, Alessandro Blasetti and Giorgio Strehler.
