Arthur Allister (Al) MacBain (4 September 1925 – 3 April 2003) was a Canadian lawyer and politician. McBain was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and became a barrister by career after graduating from Dalhousie University. John H. McCall MacBain (born ) is a Canadian billionaire businessman and philanthropist who is the founder of the McCall MacBain Foundation and Pamoja Capital SA, its investment arm. Prior to establishing the McCall MacBain Foundation, in the late 1980s he bought Auto Hebdo magazine in Quebec City and bought and consolidated several other existing Auto Traders to form Trader Classified Media based on the Auto Trader Magazine concept developed by Stuart Arnold in Florida in 1973. Louise Thérèse Blouin (born 1958/59) is a Canadian magazine publisher. She is the owner of Louise Blouin Media, which she founded. Early life and education Blouin was born in the suburbs of Montreal, in Quebec, Canada, the sixth child of parents who owned an insurance brokerage. Her father died when she was fifteen. She studied commerce at McGill University, and later transferred to Concordia University. She did not graduate. Career Blouin worked as a stock analyst and as a stockbroker. She later married John MacBain and the couple acquired ''Auto Hebdo'', a classified car trading magazine, in 1987. The business grew into Trader Classified Media. Although the couple separated in 2000, Blouin did not sell her remaining shareholding until 2004. Teresa MacBain is a former Methodist minister who came out as a nonbeliever in 2012, and returned to her faith in 2016. Biography MacBain was raised as a conservative Southern Baptist and she wanted to be a pastor like her father when she grew up. MacBain recalls that she felt that God had called her to become a pastor at an early age. MacBain eventually became the pastor of Lake Jackson United Methodist Church in Florida. After serving in ministry for many years, she began to question her faith. Aspects of the Bible did not seem 'to add up', but MacBain was not able to reconcile those questions.
