Ma Dongbo
Ma Dongbo (Chinese: 马东波; born 19 January 1977) is a former Chinese goalkeeper who played for Liaoning Zhongyu where he spent ten years at the club. Biography Ma Dongbo was drafted into the senior team of Liaoning FC during the 1995 league season as a reserve choice goalkeeper, however unfortunately this was the same season in, which the team were relegated after they finished bottom of the league. Ma Dongbo remained loyal towards the club and would remain a loyal servant towards the team that would eventually win promotion back to the top tier in the 1998 league season after coming second in the division and promotion back into the Chinese Jia-A League. While he was part of the squad that came runners-up during the 1999 league season he would only really start to establish himself within the 2002 league season when he finally started to become the club's first choice goalkeeper. Liaoning Football Club (), officially known as Liaoning Hongyun (), was a professional association football club with a long history in Chinese football. The club can predate their formation to 1953, when Shenyang government sports body joined existing club Northeast China to play in the Chinese national football league. By 1956, the league was gradually expanded and regional sports institutes' own representatives were allowed, which eventually formed Liaoning Football Club. The club won several titles as well as the 1989–90 Asian Club Championship when they beat Nissan Yokohama in the final, making Liaoning FC the first Chinese club to win an Asian club championship trophy. Liaoning () is a coastal province in Northeast China that is the smallest, southernmost, and most populous province in the region. With its capital at Shenyang, it is located on the northern shore of the Yellow Sea, and is the northernmost coastal province of the People's Republic of China.
