The M Queens Boulevard/Sixth Avenue Local is a rapid transit service in the B Division (New York City Subway), B Division of the New York City Subway. Its route emblem, or "bullet", is colored since it uses the IND Sixth Avenue Line in Manhattan. The M operates at all times. Weekday rush hour, midday, and early evening service operates between Forest Hills–71st Avenue (IND Queens Boulevard Line), 71st Avenue in Forest Hills, Queens, and Middle Village–Metropolitan Avenue (BMT Myrtle Avenue Line), Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village, Queens, making local stops along its entire route; weekend daytime and late evening weekday service is cut back from 71st Avenue in Queens to Essex Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan; late night service short turns at Myrtle Avenue (BMT Jamaica Line), Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn. Broadway is an avenue in the New York City borough of Brooklyn that extends from the East River in the neighborhood of Williamsburg in a southeasterly direction to East New York for a length of . It was named for the Broadway in Manhattan. The East New York terminus is a complicated intersection with East New York Avenue, Fulton Street, Jamaica Avenue, and Alabama Avenue. Grand Avenue (BMT Myrtle Avenue Line)
The Grand Avenue station was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Myrtle Avenue Line in Brooklyn, New York City. The station was opened on April 27, 1889 at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Grand Avenue in Brooklyn next to the Myrtle Avenue station of the BMT Lexington Avenue Line, which opened four years earlier. It had two tracks and two side platforms, and had connections not only to that station, but also to Myrtle Avenue Line streetcars. The next southbound stop was Washington Avenue. The next northbound stop was Franklin Avenue. The connection to the Lexington Avenue el station lasted until that station closed on October 13, 1950.
