MTV Thailand
MTV Thailand was a 24-hour music and entertainment channel owned by Paramount Networks EMEAA, a division of Paramount Global. This channel broadcasts both Thai and international music programs as well as a youth lifestyle T.V. series. The channel ended its transmission in 2011. In 2013, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), intended to bring back MTV Thailand with supports from AppleTool Co and MCOT Plc. On 1 September 2013, MTV Thailand officially returned to TrueVisions, replacing Channel V Thailand, before moving to CTH in January 2016. CTH Public Company Limited (CTH), formerly known as Cable Thai Holding Public Company Limited, was a Thai pay TV operator and Internet broadband services provider. It was founded by a large group of cable television operators as Cable Thai Holding, a holding company established for dealing and share its content. It was offering pay television channels on an analog CATV system which had a largest customer base in Thailand with over 2.5 million households before started its own pay TV business as CTH. MTV (Originally an initialism of Music Television) is an American cable channel that launched on August 1, 1981. Based in New York City, it serves as the flagship property of the MTV Entertainment Group, part of Paramount Media Networks, a division of Paramount Global. The channel originally aired music videos and related programming as guided by television personalities known as video jockeys, or VJs. In the years since its inception, it significantly toned down its focus on music in favor of original reality programming for teenagers and young adults. 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake And Tsunami
An earthquake and a tsunami, known as the Boxing Day Tsunami and, by the scientific community, the Sumatra–Andaman earthquake, occurred at 07:58:53 local time (UTC+7) on 26 December 2004, with an epicentre off the west coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. It was an undersea megathrust earthquake that registered a magnitude of 9.1–9.3 , reaching a Mercalli intensity up to IX in certain areas. The earthquake was caused by a rupture along the fault between the Burma Plate and the Indian Plate. A series of massive tsunami waves grew up to high once heading inland, after being created by the underwater seismic activity offshore. The MTV Asia Awards was the Asian equivalent of the European MTV EMA. Held from 2002 to 2008, the show gave recognition and awards to Asian and international artists in achievement, cinema, fashion, humanitarian, and music. Michele Waagaard
Michele Waagaard (Thai มิเชล วอกอร์ด, born 1980) is a Norwegian-Thai model, pop star, actress, MTV VJ, and radio host. In 1995 she won the title as Model of the Year for the Thai teen magazine ''The Boy''. Michele studied at Bangkok Patana School and has a degree in Communication Arts from Assumption University. In 1996 she landed a record deal with Grammy Entertainment in Thailand. Michele and 7 other teenagers released the album ''Teen 8 Grade A''. After a year on the road the four girls in the band came together and created Thailand's first pop girl band JAMP, Jennifer, Anna, Michele and Por.
