The MTV Europe Music Awards (originally named MTV European Music Awards, commonly abbreviated as MTV EMA) are awards presented by Paramount International Networks to honour artists and music in pop culture. Compact Disco
Compact Disco is a Hungarian electronic music band and musical producer trio based in Budapest, founded in 2008 by three musicians of varying musical backgrounds. The band represented Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. History Origins Lotfi, Pál and Walkó first met in 2005, when Behnam Lotfi's techno producer duo, Collins and Behnam planned to produce a cover version of Adamski and Seal's ''Killer'' and was in search of a vocalist. He saw Csaba Walkó in an American Idol type talent show and asked him to sing the vocals for the cover. Walkó that time was singing in a funk- pop band called Brownfield and asked a couple of members of this band to accompany him to the recording session. Margaret Island (band)
Margaret Island, founded in 2014, is a Hungarian indie pop band, named after Margaret Island in Budapest. Their pop songs are combined with acoustic and folk elements. The 2018 MTV EMAs (also known as the MTV Europe Music Awards) was held at the Bizkaia Arena ( Bilbao Exhibition Centre) in Barakaldo, part of Greater Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain, on 4 November 2018. The ceremony's host was Hailee Steinfeld. This was the third time that Spain hosted the ceremony. Camila Cabello was nominated for 6 awards, followed by Ariana Grande and Post Malone, who were each nominated for five. Cabello won four awards, becoming the most awarded artist of the night. József "Joci" Pápai (; born 22 September 1981) is a Hungarian singer, rapper and guitarist of Romani people in Hungary, Romani descent. He represented Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Origo (song), Origo" finishing in 8th place. Gabi Tóth
Gabriella Tóth (born 17 January 1988), also known as Gabi Tóth, is a Hungarian singer. She has been an ''X-Faktor'' mentor since 2013. Her sister, Vera Tóth, is also a Hungarian singer, who won the first season of ''Megasztár''. Life Tóth began her career in the Autumn of 2004 the second season of Megasztár, where she placed third and also achieved the best female artist prize for 2005. Gábor Alfréd Fehérvári (born 8 April 1990), known by his stage name Freddie, is a Hungarian singer. He first came to prominence after placing fourth in the first season of the Hungarian version of '' Rising Star''. He later became the Hungarian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Career Freddie's grandfather was Hungarian football coach Alfréd Fehérvári (1925–2007). Freddie studied at a commercial college before his music career, and worked as an assistant in Győr. By 2010, he had not only sung but also played guitar in small bands. Freddie first performed professionally in the Hungarian version of '' Rising Star''. The 2017 MTV EMAs (also known as the MTV Europe Music Awards) were held at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London, United Kingdom, on 12 November 2017. The 2013 MTV EMAs (also known as the MTV Europe Music Awards) were held at the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 10 November 2013. This was the second time the awards had taken place in the Netherlands, the last time being in 1997.
