MTV Europe Music Awards
The MTV Europe Music Awards (originally named MTV European Music Awards, commonly abbreviated as MTV EMA) are awards presented by Paramount International Networks to honour artists and music in pop culture. It was originally conceived as an alternative to the MTV Video Music Awards, which are hosted annually in the United States. The Europe Music Awards are held every year in a different country; it has been hosted mostly in the United Kingdom. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest. Lordi
Lordi () is a Finnish hard rock/ heavy metal band, formed in 1992 by the band's lead singer, songwriter and costume maker, Mr Lordi (Tomi Petteri Putaansuu). In addition to their melodic metal music, Lordi are also known for wearing monster masks and using horror elements with pyrotechnics during concerts and music videos. The band rose to fame in 2002 with their hit single "Would You Love a Monsterman?", and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with their song " Hard Rock Hallelujah". Lordi has toured and recorded actively since 2002, and Mr Lordi upgrades the band's costumes and masks for each album. Deep Insight
Deep Insight is a rock band from Helsinki, Finland. The band was formed in early 2002 by childhood friends Jukka (vocals) and Johannes (guitar). They were later joined by Miska (bass) and Ville (drums). Their music is a mixture of American and emo rock, with Scandinavian influences. As of 2008 they had played more than 400 shows in 20 countries. The single ''Hurricane Season'' reached number one on the Finnish Singles Chart in 2005, retaining its position for six weeks. History The band's first release, an EP titled Julia, was a concept album whose lyrics focused on the life and death of Julia, a character created by Jukka and Johannes. It gained many good reviews, most of them praising the young band's promising songwriting and Jukka's exceptional voice. MTV Europe Music Awards 2009
The MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 took place in Berlin, Germany at the O2 World and Brandenburg Gate on 5 November 2009. The awards ceremony was presented by Katy Perry for a 2nd consecutive year. It was the fourth time that the MTV Europe Music Awards were hosted in Germany and the second time that they were hosted in Berlin, since the inaugural edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards also took place there. Thus Berlin became the first city to host the event twice. Nominations for regional awards were announced on 1 September 2009, followed by those of the main awards on September 21, 2009. Disco Ensemble
Disco Ensemble is a Finnish post-hardcore/alternative rock band, originating from the small town of Ulvila. They have been noted for their energetic sound and rhythm, original guitar riffs and electronic synthesizer sounds. History Early years (1996–2002) The band was formed in 1996 by guitarist Jussi Ylikoski and drummer Mikko Hakila, who started by playing Metallica and AC/DC covers. Originally they were named simply ''DisCo.'' but they were forced to change their name to Disco Ensemble due to a Finnish electronic pop group having the same title. Children Of Bodom
Children of Bodom was a Finnish melodic death metal band from Espoo. Formed in 1993 as Inearthed, the final line-up of the group upon their split in 2019 consisted of Alexi Laiho (lead guitar, lead vocals), Jaska Raatikainen (drums), Henkka Seppälä (bass), Janne Wirman (keyboard), and Daniel Freyberg (rhythm guitar). The band released ten studio albums, two live albums, two EPs, two compilation albums and one DVD. Sunrise Avenue was a Finnish rock band originally formed in 2002 in Helsinki, Finland. In the early days, the band was called Sunrise and the name was changed to Sunrise Avenue in 2003. Ari Koivunen (born 7 June 1984) is a Finnish heavy metal singer who rose to fame as the winner of the Finnish singing competition '' Idols'' in 2007. He was the vocalist of the Finnish heavy metal band ''Amoral'' from 2008 to 2017. Beside he has worked with many musical projects already before and also after Amoral disbanded. Early life Ari Koivunen was born in Kouvola on 7 June 1984 and developed an early interest in music. The show received a total of 78 million votes, the most in MTV Europe Music Awards history.
