MTV Brand New (Dutch TV Channel)
MTV Brand New was a 24-hour specialist music channel featuring new music videos, alternative and indie music available in the Netherlands. An Italian version of the channel launched on September 14, 2003. It also launched in Germany in 2011. History MTV Brand New was derived from the hit pan-European MTV music show brand:new which launched in 1999 on MTV's regional channels. The show was known as mtv:new or brand:new on MTV. The show focused primarily on new music releases, cutting edge music videos, introducing new artists and bands, interviews and live performances. The programme was turned into a stand-alone music channel in Italy in 2003. Since then MTV Networks Europe has begun to roll out localized Brand New channels gradually. In 2006, the flagship program became a stand-alone channel in the Netherlands and Flanders featuring new music videos, alternative, punk and rock videos 24 hours a day without any commercial breaks. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy color encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. Ziggo Holding B.V. () is the largest cable operator in the Netherlands, providing digital cable television, Internet, and telephone service to both residential and commercial customers. History The company is the result of the merger between Multikabel, @Home, and Casema and launched officially on 16 May 2008. Later followed by a merger with UPC Nederland in the first quarter of 2015, at that time the second largest cable company in the Netherlands. It kept the brand name Ziggo. MTV (Originally an initialism of Music Television) is an American cable channel that launched on August 1, 1981. Based in New York City, it serves as the flagship property of the MTV Entertainment Group, part of Paramount Media Networks, a division of Paramount Global. The channel originally aired music videos and related programming as guided by television personalities known as video jockeys, or VJs. VH1 Classic Europe was a European music television channel from ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. The channel primarily featured music videos from the 1970s through to the 2000s (decade), although rare live performances from the 1950s and 1960s could be seen as well. History VH1 Classic was first launched in the United Kingdom on 1 July 1999 and made available from the beginning to the whole of Europe. However, the pan-European service was launched on 30 November 2004, when it became a separate feed from VH1 Classic UK. Caiway
Caiway (or simplified as CAIW) is a cable operator in the Netherlands, providing digital cable television, Internet, and telephone service to both residential and commercial customers in mainly the Westland, Twente and Schiedam areas. In addition, Caiway provides its services via the DELTA fiber optic network in large parts of the Netherlands. Caiway began as CAI Westland (Central Antenna Installation Westland) in 1981 and it was the first cable operator to offer internet in the Netherlands, starting in 1995. At the end of 2017, the company was taken over by the Swedish investment fund EQT. EQT was already the owner of cable operator DELTA operating in the province of the Zeeland.
