MJG
8Ball & MJG is an American hip hop duo from Memphis, Tennessee. They met at Ridgeway Middle School (Memphis, Tennessee) in 1984. In 1993, the duo released their debut album '' Comin' Out Hard''. They went on to release '' On the Outside Looking In'' (1994), '' On Top of the World'' (1995), '' In Our Lifetime'' (1999), ''Space Age 4 Eva'' (2000), ''Living Legends'' (2004), '' Ridin' High'' (2007) and ''Ten Toes Down'' (2010). Career 8Ball & MJG first appeared on the rap scene with their underground 1991 album ''Listen to the Lyrics''. In 1993, they released the successful album '' Comin' Out Hard''. Their subsequent albums in the 1990s, including 1994's '' On the Outside Looking In'', and 1995's '' On Top of the World'' cemented their status as some of the South's best rappers. ''On Top of the World'' was particularly successful, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 200 and being certified Gold. No More Glory
''No More Glory'' is the debut solo studio album by American rapper MJG. The album was released on November 18, 1997, by Draper Inc. Records. The album's title is a reference to the confederate flag and its nickname "Glory". MJG had already released three albums as a part of the group 8Ball & MJG, but following 1995's '' On Top of the World'', the two rappers decided to each release a solo album before continuing as a group. ''Ridin High'' is the seventh studio album by the American hip hop duo 8Ball & MJG. The album was released on March 13, 2007, by Bad Boy South. It was originally scheduled for July 2006, under the title ''Pure American Pimpin, but was eventually confirmed to be titled ''Ridin High''. The album features guest appearances from Three 6 Mafia, Juvenile, Yung Joc, P Diddy, The Notorious B.I.G., Jazze Pha, 112, & Project Pat. Productions will come from Jazze Pha, Sean Dre, Drumma Boy, Lil Jon, DJ Toomp and Timbaland's protégé Nate " Danja" Hills. ''Ten Toes Down'' is the eighth studio album by the American southern hip hop duo 8Ball & MJG. The album was released on May 4, 2010, by Grand Hustle Records and E1 Music. This is the first album by the duo after leaving the Bad Boy South, before signing a record deal with the Grand Hustle label. Bad Boy South
Bad Boy South was a southern hip hop spin-off label of Bad Boy Records. The label was founded by Sean Combs in 2003. History Bad Boy South was founded in 2003 after this signing of 8 Ball & MJG. The label was created to capitalize on the success of southern hip hop and to have one label simply focus on that genre so that the mainstream label could go out and search for other talents. For the first year, 8 Ball & MJG were the only artists on the label. In 2005, the label signed a deal with Russell "Block" Spencer to cross-promote artists on his label, Block Entertainment. This deal added acts Boyz n da Hood, Gorilla Zoe, Big Gee, Jody Breeze, Duke, and Young Jeezy. Jeezy would leave the label before the group could release their debut album, which sparked controversy as he would start his own label and sign with The Island Def Jam Music Group.
