MG3 (automobile)
The MG3 is a small car produced by the Chinese automotive company SAIC. The first generation, marketed as the MG3 SW, is based on the British made Rover Streetwise, which itself was based on the Rover 25, while the second generation, introduced in 2011 is marketed simply as the MG3. It is the most popular Chinese manufactured car currently on sale in the United Kingdom. First generation (2008) Overview The first generation MG3 SW is essentially a rebadged version of the Rover Streetwise, which had ceased production in April 2005 after the bankruptcy of predecessor organisation MG Rover. It started production in 2008 at SAIC's Chinese factory in Pukou, Nanjing. The MG3 SW is only on sale in China, and cannot be exported by SAIC. MG Motor UK Limited (MG Motor) is an automotive company owned by SAIC Motor UK, headquartered in London, owned by the Shanghai-based Chinese state-owned automaker SAIC Motor. Anthony Williams-Kenny
Anthony (Tony) Williams-Kenny is a British car designer and is the Director of Design at the Chinese car manufacturer Zotye Auto as of June 2022. Career Williams-Kenny graduated from Coventry University in 1997 with a degree in Transport Design and in 1998 with a masters in automotive design. He worked as a designer for Mitsubishi Motors at their German design centre before joining MG Rover in 2000 as a design manager. Longbridge plant is an industrial complex in Longbridge, Birmingham, England, currently leased by SAIC as a research and development facility for its MG Motor subsidiary.
