MEI Academy (abbreviated as MEI) is a study abroad organization that specializes in experiential learning, academic coursework, and educational travel. Founded in 1997 by Joe and Rita Mei, the company aims to offer a global high school experience. Thousands of students have graduated from MEI programs. Programs MEI operates over study abroad programs across six continents: Asia, Europe, South America, North America, Africa, and Australia. All programs are designed for high school and gap year students, and are organized by a summer term throughout Europe, Tanzania and Costa Rica, a Fall semester that travels through Europe, and a Spring semester that travels through Asia. The Summer term programs are typically between 4-6 weeks in duration, and offer 1 or 2 high school credits. The Semesters are much longer but offer 3 high school credits. EF Education First (abbreviated as EF) is an international education company that specializes in language training, educational travel, academic degree programs, and cultural exchange. The company was founded in 1965 by Bertil Hult in the Swedish university town of Lund. The company is privately held by the Hult family. As of 2017, EF had approximately 52,000 employees in 116 countries. The company has particular focus in China and other Asian markets under the brand name "English First". History Bertil Hult dropped out of college to launch EF in 1969. Neuchâtel Junior College
Neuchâtel Junior College (or NJC) is a private international school located in the French-speaking town of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. It is a member of Canadian Accredited Independent Schools. History NJC was founded in 1956 by Leonard Wilde, an Englishman who was teaching at a local Swiss school in the 1950s. His dream was to bring North American students to Europe where they could experience a new culture and a new language. NJC is a one-year school annually welcoming 60 to 80 students in their final pre-university year to study the Enriched Ontario Grade 12 curriculum as well as Advanced Placement. In search of students who might be interested in such an adventure, Leonard Wilde travelled to Canada, and taught at Shawnigan Lake School, on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, to become acquainted with the Canadian school system and Canadian students.
