The Maastricht Exhibition & Conference Centre (shortened as MECC Maastricht) is a convention centre in Maastricht, Netherlands, located in the city's Randwyck district. It is well-known for hosting the annual European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF), which is considered one of the world's leading art fairs. MECC Maastricht was a shortlisted candidate to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, losing to Rotterdam Ahoy. Maastricht ( , , ; li, Mestreech ; french: Maestricht ; es, Mastrique ) is a city and a municipality in the southeastern Netherlands. It is the capital and largest city of the province of Limburg. Maastricht Randwyck Railway Station
Maastricht Randwyck railway station is located in the suburb in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The station is located near the MECC Conference Centre, Academic Hospital Maastricht and parts of Maastricht University. History The station opened on 31 May 1987 on the Liège–Maastricht railway. Between December 2006 and December 2011 Randwyck was the southernmost active railway station in the Netherlands, as the more southern Eijsden station was closed during this time. The European Fine Art Fair
The European Fine Art Fair (abbreviated: TEFAF) is an annual art, antiques and design fair organized by ''The European Fine Art Foundation'' in the MECC in Maastricht, Netherlands. It was first held in 1988. The ten-day fair attracts about 75,000 visitors and is considered one of the world's leading art fairs. The fair Presenting 260 of the world's leading galleries from twenty countries, TEFAF Maastricht showcases works of art currently on the market for ten days each year. In addition to the traditional areas of Old Master paintings and antique works of art, visitors can see and buy a wide variety of classical modern and contemporary art, as well as jewellery, 20th-century design, and works on paper. The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was planned to be the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It would have taken place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, following the country's victory at the with the song "Arcade" by Duncan Laurence. The contest was cancelled on 18 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making the first time in the contest's 64-year history that an edition was not held. Rotterdam Ahoy (formerly known as Ahoy Rotterdam or simply as Ahoy) is a convention centre and multi-purpose indoor arena located in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
