Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria – often abbreviated as MBGN – is a pageant organised by Silverbird Group with the main purpose of sending representatives to international competitions. Originally known as Miss Universe Nigeria, it was renamed Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria after news publishers ''Daily Times'' lost their license to send delegates from rival contest Miss Nigeria to Miss World. The current titleholder is event planner Ada Eme who represented Abia. History Former publisher Ben Murray-Bruce ventured into show business after his magazine ''Silverbird'' flopped. Miss Nigeria
Miss Nigeria is an annual pageant showcasing positive attributes of Nigerian women and awarding university scholarships. The winner portrays exemplary qualities and serves as a role model for young women in the country. The pageant is currently organised by '' Daily Times''. The current titleholder is 18-year-old hijab model Shatu Garko who represented the north-east. Sabina Umeh
Sabina Umeh (born Sabina Ifeoma Umeh, 1969), is a Nigerian singer/songwriter and model. Career The daughter of a renowned playwright and professor, Umeh was crowned Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 1990 in December 1989, and would participate in Miss Universe, Miss Intercontinental, and Miss World, where she won the Miss Personality award. Prior to MBGN, she had been crowned '' Miss Uniben''. Umeh vowed to avoid scandals, but found herself embroiled in one when journalists questioned her victory her boyfriend (now husband) Kesse Jabari, was revealed to be an employee of organisers Silverbird Productions. Titilope Lawoyin (born Anne Titilope Suinner, September 4, 1981) is a former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria. Career At the time of her having titled she was an undergraduate student of Olabisi Onabanjo University. She was born to the family of Mr. Patrick M. Suinner. She comes from Takum local council of Taraba State. Lawoyin - then known as Ann Suinner - placed second in MBGN 2001, but replaced Agbani Darego after the latter was crowned Miss World.
