Mama (EP)
''Mama'' is the debut studio extended play (EP) by South Korean-Chinese boy band Exo-K and Exo-M. It was released by SM Entertainment on April 9, 2012 in two language editions – Exo-K's Korean version and Exo-M's Mandarin version. Background The EP was produced by Lee Soo-man, who is also the main producer for the group. The title for the EP is a Korean term used to address to a royal person, similar to the attributes "your highness" or "your majesty" in English. The title single "Mama" is written by Yoo Young-jin, who also co-wrote two other singles from the EP, "What Is Love" and "History". Promotion From December 2011 to February 2012, SM Entertainment released twenty-three teaser trailers featuring the members of the group, which included some previews of the songs from the EP. Exo ( ko, 엑소; stylized in all caps) is a South Korean-Chinese boy band based in Seoul formed by SM Entertainment in 2011 and debuted in 2012. The group consists of nine members: Xiumin, Suho, Lay Zhang, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen (singer), Chen, Park Chanyeol, Chanyeol, D.O. (entertainer), D.O., Kai (entertainer, born 1994), Kai and Oh Se-hun, Sehun. They are noted for releasing music and performing extensively in Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Mandarin and Japanese. ''M Countdown'' () is a South Korean music program broadcast by Mnet. The show features appearances by popular music artists who also perform live on stage. It is broadcast from CJ E&M Center Studio in Sangam-dong, Mapo District, Seoul. Broadcast ''M Countdown'' airs live on domestic television at 6PM KST every Thursday.
