Route The M53 begins in the Primrose suburb of Germiston, at a junction with the M14 Route (Cydonia Road; Gorst Avenue). It begins by going southwards as Johan Rissik Road to reach a junction with the R29 Route (Main Reef Road). It continues southwards to reach a junction with the M37 Route (also named Johan Rissik Road), where it enters the Germiston City Centre. The M37 joins the M53 and they form one road south-south-east through the city centre, becoming two one-way-streets (Victoria Street southwards and Meyer Street northwards) to reach the Georgetown section, where the M37 becomes its own road to the south-west (Joubert Street) while the M53 remains facing southwards (Victoria Street & Meyer Street). The M39 is a long metropolitan route in Greater Johannesburg, South Africa. It connects Kyalami with Germiston via Midrand, Kempton Park & Isando. Route The M39 begins at a junction with the R55 road in Kyalami Gardens, at the entrance to the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. It goes east-south-east into the southern suburbs of Midrand as Allandale Road, bypassing Vorna Valley, to bypass the Mall of Africa and form an interchange with the N1 Highway ( Ben Schoeman Freeway) before meeting the R101 road (Old Pretoria Main Road). M7 is a metropolitan route in the Greater Johannesburg metropolitan area. The road connects Thokoza and the southern suburbs of Alberton with suburbs to the west of the Johannesburg CBD. Route The M7 begins at a t-junction with Hill Road east of Zonkizizwe. It goes westwards as Dihlabakela Road, meeting the southern terminus of the M53 Route, to pass through the southern part of Katlehong and Thokoza. It flies over a railway and over the M61 Route (Vereeniging Road) to enter the Alrode South suburb of Alberton, where it reaches a T-junction with Kliprivier Drive. The N3 is a national route in South Africa that connects Johannesburg and Durban, respectively South Africa's largest and third-largest cities. Johannesburg is the financial and commercial heartland of South Africa, while Durban is South Africa's key port and one of the busiest ports in the Southern Hemisphere and is also a holiday destination. Durban is the port through which Johannesburg imports and exports most of its goods. As a result, the N3 is a very busy highway and has a high volume of traffic. Route The N3 is divided into 12 sections, starting with section 1 in Durban and ending with section 12 in Johannesburg. Between the two cities, the route passes the following towns and cities: Pietermaritzburg, Estcourt, Ladysmith, Harrismith, Heidelberg and Germiston. The R103 is a Regional Route in South Africa that is the designation for some of the old sections of roads that were previously the N3, prior to upgrading. It only has 3 sections, from Hillcrest to Ladysmith, from Warden to Villiers and from Heidelberg to Johannesburg. Route Kwazulu-Natal Its first section begins as a junction with the M13 Highway in Hillcrest, a town 30 km north-west of Durban. The R103 begins as the Old Main Road and leaves Hillcrest in a roughly north-west direction and enters Cato Ridge from the east. In Cato Ridge, the road crosses the N3 at the 53 exit and then follows the south side of the N3, leaving the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, before recrossing the N3 freeway at Camperdown. The R554 is a Regional Route in Gauteng, South Africa. The road connects the southern suburbs of Soweto with Springs on the East Rand via Lenasia, Alberton and Brakpan. Route Its western terminus is an interchange with the M68 and the N12 Moroka Bypass, just south of Soweto, Gauteng (south of Protea Glen), as Abu Baker Asvat Drive. The route initially runs south, to Lenasia and then turns east in the town centre. It intersects with the R553 and passes over the N1 east of Lenasia. At a four-way intersection north of Walkerville, the eastbound road becomes the R550. The R554 is then cosigned with the intersecting R82 for 800 metres northwards, crossing the Klip River, before the R554 becomes its own road eastwards just west of Kibler Park. The N17 is a national route in South Africa which runs from Johannesburg to Oshoek ( Ngwenya) on the border with Eswatini. It passes through Springs, Bethal and Ermelo. Background The section of the N17 from Johannesburg to Springs is a dual carriageway and is a national toll route. It was the first urban toll road in Gauteng. It runs from the M11 Wemmer Pan Road in Johannesburg to Tonk Meter Road in Springs. The first part of the N17 used to be the old R77 which ran from the M46 Rand Airport Road to the R23.
