Mülenen Railway Station
Mülenen is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Bern. The station is located on the Lötschberg line of the BLS AG, and is in the village of Mülenen. Both village and station are divided by the boundary between the municipalities of Reichenbach im Kandertal and Aeschi bei Spiez. The lower station of the Niesenbahn funicular, which provides a link to the summit of the Niesen mountain, is adjacent to the station. Lötschberg Railway Line
The Lötschberg is an Alpine mountain massif and usually associated with a major, historically important transit axis of the Alps in Switzerland with, at its core, the Lötschen Pass (german: Lötschenpass, Swiss German: ''Lötschepass''). Reichenbach Im Kandertal
Reichenbach im Kandertal is a village and municipality in the Frutigen-Niedersimmental administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. Until 1957 it was known as Reichenbach bei Frutigen. Besides the village of Reichenbach, the municipality includes several other settlements, including Aris, Faltsche, Griesalp, Kien, Kiental, Ramslauenen, Reudlen, Scharnachtal, Schwandi and Wengi. Aeschi bei Spiez is a municipality in the Frutigen-Niedersimmental administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. History Aeschi bei Spiez is first mentioned in 1228 as ''Asshes''. In 1269 it was mentioned as ''(villa) Esche.''. The earliest traces of settlements in the area include scattered La Tene era graves and individual prehistoric tools. During the Middle Ages, it was part of the ''Herrschaft'' of Mülenen, under the Lords of Kien. The ''Herrschaft'' then passed through several other nobles, including the Wädenswil and Turn families. Niesen Mountain
The Niesen is a mountain peak of the Bernese Alps in the Canton of Bern, Switzerland. The summit of the mountain is in elevation. It overlooks Lake Thun, in the Bernese Oberland region, and forms the northern end of a ridge that stretches north from the Albristhorn and Mannliflue, separating the Simmental and Kandertal valleys. RegioExpress
RegioExpress (RE) is a fast regional train service in Switzerland, run by Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS) or other railway companies (such as TILO, BLS, tpf, transN, THURBO or RhB). It is comparable to the Regional-Express in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg.
