Pee-wee's Playhouse
''Pee-wee's Playhouse'' is an American television series starring Paul Reubens as the childlike Pee-wee Herman that ran from 1986 to 1990 on Saturday mornings on CBS, and airing in reruns until July 1991. The show was developed from Reubens's popular stage show and the TV special ''The Pee-wee Herman Show'', produced for HBO, which was similar in style but featured much more adult humor. In 2004 and 2007, ''Pee-wee's Playhouse'' was ranked No. 10 and No. 12 on ''TV Guide''s Top Cult Shows Ever, respectively. ''Hunky and Spunky'' were fictional characters, appearing in the series of animated short subjects produced by Fleischer Studios for Paramount Pictures from 1938 to 1941. Filmed in Technicolor (three-strip), the series revolves around a mother burro and her son. History Hunky is a mother burro and Spunky is her young son. The initial film, titled ''Hunky and Spunky'', takes place in the Old West, where a prospector attempts to make Spunky into his pack animal. Marilyn Beck (December 17, 1928 – May 31, 2014) was a syndicated Hollywood columnist and author. Career Beck began working as a newspaper and magazine writer in the early 1960s. One of her first interviews was with the "Red Light Bandit" serial rapist Caryl Chessman on San Quentin's death row, shortly before he was executed. She wrote her first column for Bell McClure syndicate in 1967. Three years later, she was named Sheilah Graham's successor for the North American Newspaper Alliance.
